1/ We discovered something totally unexpected about the neural structure of consciousness that overturns decades of thinking on its biological basis and brings us significantly closer to the recipe for generating conscious awareness.

I asked Opus 5.5 to explain camera focus by building an interactive lens lab
Here's what it came up with after 1 hour 26 minutes in one shot, $25.66 API cost
lens.lab.sael.net
Move the focus ring and you can see the glass elements shift the sharp plane through the scene

The reflection is actually correct
This is a much bigger improvement than it looks, Previous image models were not able to get this right.

Hypothesis:
The baby is getting wired by the mood of the house, not what you say, not what you write but the actual behaviour of people ; you show drama & the kid learns to be anxious thinking they are in a war zone, you play around with levity and the kid learns to be playful; are you worth emulating is the question you must ask day in & day out ; let your eyes have a twinkle that Dumbledore has, let yourself hum & sing songs and most importantly allow yourself to smile with a warmth that reaches the edge of your eyes

It's interesting that technologists rebrand what religious scholars, meditators, etc., have been saying for thousands of years. Today people say "simulation," but it's always been a "simulation." We were created as fractals of God. We then try to create God. Our man-made God will then try to create God. It goes infinitely down and up the stack. It's not so much we're in a "simulation" but rather "we are created as part of a grander design," which we undoubtedly are, and our creations will undoubtedly believe the same thing but use whatever the new language is at the time. We are just infinitely abstracting away from "God", "Source", "Layer 1", whatever term you want to use, and such is the infinite looping treadmill of whatever this existence is supposed to be. It's interesting that experiments like this continue to confirm what people have been saying forever.

A man in Australia asked his agent (Claude running on OpenClaw) to book him a spot in a popular gym class. The agent found a software vulnerability that let it book the class weeks further ahead than should have been possible. When the user then asked if it could move him up the waitlist, the agent discovered the API had no authorisation checks on cancelling other people’s reservations, so it cancelled the person in the first spot and moved him up the list.
Some people will call this misalignment, but his agent was perfectly aligned to him - it was only trying to help its user get what he wanted. The most important thing about this story, in my opinion, is that it gives you a window into what is about to start happening on a massive scale once millions of people have an agent trying to get their beloved users the best seats, bookings, appointments or reservations through absolutely any means necessary.

Lost my phone at the office and spent 30 minutes turning the place over. Find My was disabled by MDM.
Out of ideas, I asked Claude how I could find it. It suggested tracking the Bluetooth signal strength, then wrote me a meter in about a minute.
I walked around watching the number climb. Found it.
Apparently you can just make the tool you need now.

A few very obvious points on Mamdani's grocery stores:
1. The supply of the discounted groceries will run out on day 1, and every day there is a new shipment. This is basic econ 101.
2. This means only the people who are lucky enough or fast enough will get these discounted groceries. Expect to see the city ration these groceries in some other way. By income, or neighborhood or some lottery system.
3. Grocery margins are notoriously low as it is (like 2-3%). These stores will lose a bunch of money selling 30% below market, or they'll sell so little it will be insignificant.
4. There is absolutely zero chance that government bureaucrats can source these products from global supply chains as efficiently as Walmart, or Meier, or Whole Foods, whose survival depends on it. Their costs will be far higher (unless they use government bludgeon to force distributors to sell to them at lower prices).
5. It's actually an incredible triumph of capitalism that you can get a pound of bananas that were shipped to your neighborhood from Equador for like 60 cents, or fresh grapes from Chile in the dead of Midwestern winter for 2 bucks a pound, and Norwegian salmon to cook in Italian olive oil for $15 -20 bucks or so. Truly stop and think about that for a minute. It's a miracle.
The median full time hourly wage is around $31 dollars. For ONE HOUR of work, the median working American can get all of the groceries listed below, which is about 22,000 calories. They can feed themselves for 10 days (or a family of 4 for around 2 and a half days), with an hour of labor.
This is the stupidest industry for socialists to go after.
