We welcome and encourage all of our customers to inspect and even modify the program memory of our products. @FUTO_Tech
Accessing program memory directly counts as reverse engineering and is against the TOS of pretty much every proprietary software

If Massie can't defund this law then I'll gonna start hacking cars to disable this tech.

Federal law says new cars after 2026 must monitor drivers and shut down if the car disapproves. Your dashboard should not be judge, jury, and executioner. @RepScottPerry @RepChipRoy offered an amendment to defund the automobile kill switch mandate. Here’s our debate:

A few 2025 predictions that never came to be: • Junior developers were supposed to be fully replaced • Prompt engineers were supposed to be the highest-paid role in tech • Every company was supposed to be running autonomous AI agents • Everyone was supposed to be able to vibe code video games by now • Writing code manually was supposed to be obsolete • Most companies weren't supposed to be hiring engineers anymore None of that has happened. Some of it may never happen at all.

Bye bye, Windows 10! Microsoft is stopping support for the operating system today. If you're still using it, now is a good time to consider alternatives such as Linux, which is free and open source (like LibreOffice): blog.documentfoundation.org/… #endof10

💯💯💯 This needs more attention. How much human creativity will be lost forever due to the shackles of the DMCA? Digital media can theoretically live forever, yet a book published in 1800 has better odds of existing in 2100 than digital media published today.

- Remove the top and it's a convertible - Remove the rear seats and you have a mini truck - Put everything back on and it's a SUV Not to mention: - Has one of the best 3rd party markets for replacement parts and upgrades - Fenders and grill bolt on, easy to replace - Possibly the best consumer off-road vehicle of the 20th century

You can’t be serious about this. Design patterns and CC often DO complicate things, not just in game dev, but in all software development. The reason is simple. You're telling people to follow solutions that might have worked in another scenario and use them as the foundation for their own code organization. That’s INSANE! The result is complex and slow software. Different problems require different solutions. Yes, there’s overlap, but being dogmatic about it, like telling people how long a function should be, is just harmful. A better approach is to solve the problem in the simplest way. As the codebase grows, you identify common patterns and introduce necessary abstractions. This works because you're working with the ground truth. You know the code’s strengths and weaknesses, so you can adapt by introducing new concepts. Designing upfront usually fails because there’s only so much you can keep in your head. How many times have I tried to design something upfront, only for the actual code to change so much that the original design falls apart? Upfront design doesn’t work because, most of the time, you’ll be wrong! And design patterns are exactly that, formalized best practices. When people start by writing tons of unnecessary boilerplate to follow these practices, they’re wasting time and making their future work harder, for themselves and the CPU.

I doubt this claim is true. Oh, I know a few "game devs" who have 'clickbaited' that notion; but I doubt most actually believe it. Most game devs are very smart people, and very smart people know that there is nothing in the Design Patterns or Clean Code canon that could possibly have a detrimental effect upon game development. The only people who could come to that conclusion are those who have not bothered to read and understand that material.
