Last week, I had the special opportunity to spend time on the water with Olympian Robert Zagunis and Dr. @StephenSeiler. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to focus on innovating rowing technology and science at @usrowing leading into @LA28.

Margaret Hamilton passed away this past week, & I strongly urge you to read this article. I think it will shock you – because most of her work was never celebrated until recently. As a leader in her field, she pioneered recognizing software engineering as its own discipline.

In 1992 Peter Ratcliffe received this rejection from Nature.
Almost 30 years later he won the Nobel Prize for the same discovery.

"While the two part computer science, sports science can be difficult times, it’s been a really cool journey learning to leverage both in this new kind of arena." @MollieBrewer, founding member of Women in Sports AI and Tech Club
On the Training Science Podcast, Mollie Brewer explains why domain expertise matters when working with large datasets in sport science, and how it helps tell a genuine new insight apart from a problem in the data.

In July, I traveled back to @leedsbeckett for graduation from @Carnegie_Sport. While I was proud to be graduating with distinction on the Dean's List, it was a surprise to be awarded the Course Prize for Contribution to Sport and Exercise Physiology and the highest marked research dissertation.
Thank you to so many special people who supported me. Carnegie School Of Sport overdelivered. I will forever cherish my time in Headingley. I wish I could enjoy it all again.

In at least one parallel universe, I would've trained in emergency, wilderness, and/or aerospace medicine to become a flight surgeon.
Applied physiology in extreme environments.
Run for mayor of @CityOfBoston on this platform:
Storrow and Memorial Drives become mixed surface paths for running and cycling. More boathouses. A few cafes. Bigger and better than Central Park.
Taking ideas for additional improvements.
Rewarding to be on all three sides of it: athlete, coach, scientist. Still, so much to learn.

Research informs practice. Practice informs research. And the cycle continues.

You put your head down and work. You focus on solving one problem after another. Gains accrue exponentially. And then you lift your head up a few years later and look around, and you're amazed at what you've built.
Officially cleared to train again this morning
