Why does this man sleep with an actual fire burning beneath his bed… and wake up perfectly comfortable? 🔥😴 Meet the ancient Chinese kang heating system. Fire heats a network of channels beneath a raised bed made of brick or stone. The heat spreads through the platform and stays trapped for hours even after the fire goes out. Instead of heating the entire room this clever design keeps the sleeping area warm through freezing northern Chinese winters. No electric heater. No modern technology. Just centuries of engineering genius. 🛏️🔥
