Replying to @NiallStanage
Laughing about dead Palestinian babies on a hip American TV show, while parroting Israeli propaganda. Sounding confidently substantive about a two year human tragedy, while simultaneously dismissive enough, indifferent enough to sound American cool, capable of entertaining and eliciting laughter from an audience. Distracting from the barbarous shredding of families and babies in Gaza, since distraction will get airtime, and the show must go on.

President Trump has ordered prosecutors to seek the death penalty for every undocumented migrant accused of a capital crime – but not all U.S. citizens similarly charged. This E.O. is an attempt to codify his dangerous speech toward migrants. justsecurity.org/114155/trum…

The attempt to kill former President Donald Trump was awful, and all too familiar in American history. What is far too common right now is dangerous speech - rhetoric that normalizes and even encourages political violence in lieu of democracy.

Every American must avoid spreading such language, and we must make a habit of calling it out, especially in our own communities and political groups. That’s more effective than focusing on the other side’s dangerous speech. We can best control ourselves, and our own.

Israel's sluggish delivery of food aid to Gaza is tantamount to torturing civilians, and it is turning even longtime friends into appalled critics. But Israel can relieve this needless suffering, without helping Hamas | Opinion | @SusanBenesch haaretz.com/opinion/2024-03-…

‼️ Out now in @haaretzcom : “For all the agonizing days since October 7, Israel and Gaza have been the subject of a battle of words alongside the actual war,” writes Susan Benesch.

What’s happening is tantamount to torturing civilians. Israel – and the United States – must act to relieve needless suffering and death.

Banning TikTok could have an even more dire impact in an election year: it's a hub for news and information that will be critical to ensuring eligible voters have the right information and are not susceptible to mis- and dis-information. #DontBanTikTok
