Get a battery backup (UPS) to keep your @Sonic fiber and WiFi online. Or a small generator (and an extension cord) if you also want to power your fridge during longer outages.
You may have heard about Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) in the news or from your electric utility. Here’s what you need to know. 👇 ⚡️ Your utility decides when to shut off power as a last resort to protect public safety based on forecast weather and local fire risk. The CPUC oversees how utilities prepare for and carry out shutoffs, including requirements to notify customers, limit impacts, and support people who need additional assistance. 🟡 Utilities must work to limit their impact, notify customers, and help people who need additional assistance. 📲 Make sure your utility has your current contact information so you can receive shutoff alerts. 🗺️ Find your utility’s outage map: cpuc.ca.gov/consumer-support…

We're here to provide some clarification. 5G sounds like 5 Gig, but that’s where the similarities end. In addition to the difference in speed, 5G internet relies on cellular towers, so your service reliability will vary more due to signal and congestion. 5G upload speeds are also usually much slower than download speeds, whereas Sonic Fiber is symmetrical, meaning the upload and download speeds are comparable. (P.S. We don’t offer 5 Gig, but we’ve got symmetrical 10 Gig Fiber-optic internet, which is up to twice as fast. 😊)

Avoid this at any cost. The @Huel meal shake is slimy, overly sweet and also sort of earthy. All in all, a completely disgusting experience. Do not recommend.

How recently women got rights you probably assumed we’ve always had: 1910 - Women could wear pants 1920 - White women could vote 1963 - Women gained equal pay rights (sort of) 1965 - Black women could vote 1969 - Women could initiate divorce 1972 - Women could get birth control without a man's permission 1973 - Women could get an abortion, legally 1974 - Women were allowed to open up a bank account, loan or credit card without a man’s name attached to it 1988 - Women could own their own business 1994 - Women gained legal protection against domestic abuse 2022 - Women lost the constitutional right to abortion We’re going backwards. Anyone who doesn’t see it that way is a fucking idiot.

There's a lot going on in our industry: mergers, acquisitions—all offering more of the same. Not us; we set our sights high and keep climbing, improving, and refusing to settle when it comes to providing a better experience for our members.

10,000+ installations completed so far this summer ☀️ 🚧 🏠! The heat isn’t slowing us down. We build our 10,000Mbps fiber-optic network ourselves, which means you get truly fast internet speed and outstanding bandwidth. Result: when it's WAY too hot to even think about going outside, you and your household can stream, download, upload, and use all your smart devices at the same time without lag.

What to expect on installation day 🪛 Your installer will: 👷1) Notify you before arrival via text 2) Ask if you have a preference on equipment placement 3) Work on both the interior and exterior of your home to bring the fiber line inside 4) Advise on WiFi equipment rentals and setup (if you’re unsure) 5) Answer any questions you have 6) Run a speed test to ensure everything’s working 7) Clean up afterwards 8) Leave your home with reliable, ultra-fast internet.

UPDATE: 10 Gig installations are underway across LA County and Dallas! We LOVE the feeling of helping people ditch the overpriced, under-delivering internet providers for service that is ridiculously fast, reliable, backed by support from real people, and refuses to play games (no contracts, no data caps, no bots). We’re on a mission to get this kind of service into the homes and apartments of as many people as possible. Find out more about our expansion: sonic.com/la-dallas-expansio…

Does anyone have a contact at Meta? My Instagram account has disappeared, and the normal account recovery links don’t work. Very odd.

Anyone know somebody helpful at Meta/Instagram? My IG account "dane" has disappeared, and their account recovery tools don't seem to lead anywhere when an account is just plain gone.

Efforts to force ISPs to offer a low-speed service at a low cost demonstrate a misunderstanding about cost and speed. Lower speed doesn't cost less to deliver. If we could sell for less than our normal price, we would. arstechnica.com/tech-policy/…

Sonic Fiber is busy building in San Leandro! As of February, we’ve completed some of the construction in this area, allowing 3,800 additional homes to order service today. No bundles, no speed tiers, no hidden fees, and the friendliest team around. bit.ly/46IIt6C
