I know that when I want to find out what’s in the best interest of Palestinians I turn to the guy who casually admitted to helping torture Palestinians during his volunteer stint with the IDF who now runs one of the most consistently anti-Palestinian publications on earth.
"Tehran is prepared to fight Israel down to the last Palestinian. The office of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas—a rival to Hamas—has said that Khamenei’s 'goal is to sacrifice Palestinian blood and thousands of children, women, and the elderly, and to destroy Palestinian land.'" -- @ksadjadpour:

A third of those killed in the Oct 7 attacks were members of Israel's security services, including 278 soldiers. Hamas attacked military bases before civilian sites. This doesn't often get mentioned.

Elie Wiesel in the 1940s
"In 1982, after Gen. Ariel Sharon had treated the inhabitants of the Sabra and Shatila camps as target practice for his paid proxies, Wiesel favored us with another of his exercises in neutrality. Asked by the New York Times to comment on the pogrom, he was one of the few American Jews approached on the matter to express zero remorse. “I don’t think we should even comment,” he said, proceeding to comment bleatingly that he felt “sadness – with Israel, and not against Israel.” For the victims, not even a perfunctory word."

This is crux of the whole thing for me.
Every pro-Israel Jewish figure I hear seems stunned by the power and endurance of anti-Israel sentiment, and they legit think it’s rooted in nothing but antisemitism.
It’s rooted in belief in Palestinian dignity and freedom.

There is a sentence that almost never appears in Western coverage:
Under international law, a people under military occupation have the right to resist that occupation.
This is not a controversial claim.
It is in the United Nations Charter.
It is in the Geneva Conventions.
It has been affirmed repeatedly by the UN General Assembly, explicitly referring to "all available means, including armed struggle."
It is the same principle invoked to describe French resistance to Nazi occupation as heroic rather than terrorist.
It is so uncontroversial that it doesn't need to be stated when applied to almost any other occupied people in history.
When applied to Palestinians, it disappears.
Not because it became false.
Because the people who control which sentences appear in the news made a decision about which populations are permitted to have legally recognized rights that are spoken aloud in prime time.
That decision is political.
The silence around it is also political.
The pretense that both are journalistic is the lie inside the lie.

In 1905, after it had become obvious that the only way Zionists were able to acquire land in Palestine was to displace Palestinians, a delegate to the 1905 Zionist congress, Yitzhak Epstein, warned:
"Can it be that the dispossessed will keep silent and calmly accept what is being done to them? Will they not ultimately arise to regain, with physical force, that which they were deprived of through the power of gold? Will they not seek justice from the strangers that placed themselves over their land?"

Let’s be real: if, after a live-streamed genocide, slaughtered children & journalists in Gaza, aggressive annexation in the West Bank and razed villages in South Lebanon, and you're still logging on here to claim you’re a “proud zionist"— well, you’re also clearly racist.

Zionism is racism because Palestinian refugees are banned from returning to their homeland *because* they are Palestinian. It is not a matter of debate. It doesn’t mean multiple things. This is a factual description of a racist project.

There’s a lot of linguistic sleights of hand in media discourse but none more sinister—and successful—than “two state solution.” The gap between what the avg listener imagines this means vs what pundits and lawmakers actually mean is lightyears apart. Not remotely the same thing.

It’s been nearly two years since 65 doctors, nurses and paramedics who volunteered in Gaza sounded the alarm that Israeli soldiers were targeting and killing children there.
The shootings have continued.
Today, Israeli soldiers shot a 12-year-old.

Israeli occupation forces have been using this “foul odorant,” known as skunk liquid, since 2008 against Palestinian crowds, homes, shops, schools, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, neighbourhoods, and even funeral processions.
🚨BREAKING: A highly foul smell spread across Gaza City overnight, leaving residents searching their homes and tents for its source.
Social media platforms were flooded with complaints from Palestinians reporting the same unbearable odor across large areas, from Al-Tuffah and Al-Daraj in the east to Beit Lahia in the west.
According to journalist Yousef Fares in Gaza, Israeli military aircraft dropped hundreds of bubbles carrying the foul-smelling substance across these areas, deliberately contaminating the air and spreading the odor among residential areas.
