Many investors used to think $CABO had a good management team when the stock was going up.
The Cable One deal is getting messier by the day.
The company had lined up a $1.3bn financing (backed by GTCR) to buy the rest of MBI and pay off its B-4 TL. CoBank then bought ~$90mm of the RCF the day before the deal was set to close (according to Cable One) and sued to block it the next day, claiming cable was insolvent and overpaying.
Now a judge has granted a TRO. Bear in mind, all of this is happening while the business keeps shrinking..

It seems to me that this is a pressure tactic to get an MNO to agree to a deal with $SPCX.
The 800 MHz spectrum they bought does not solve the penetration issue. This will give you a signal indoors, but a pretty crappy one.
Is $SPCX going to buy more midband now and become a full-blown terrestrial carrier? Will it make some sort of deal with cable?
If this was really the plan, why didn't they just buy all of $ECHO?
$SPCX announced it will build a terrestrial layer with 800 MHz. Cell towers +4% AH.

It's very interesting that Musk chose not to buy the $ECHO network. 🤔
SpaceX has just officially announced two major milestones for @Starlink Mobile, bringing it one step closer to becoming a full-fledged mobile carrier in the U.S.
1) SpaceX has reached an agreement to acquire nationwide 800 MHz spectrum, which will allow Starlink Mobile to provide better indoor coverage, including signals that can penetrate walls and other obstacles.
2) The FCC has approved SpaceX's next-generation Starlink Mobile constellation of 15,000 satellites, which will deliver over 100x more bandwidth than its current satellites, enabling high-speed internet directly to regular smartphones worldwide.
Once approved by the FCC, SpaceX plans to combine its satellite network with terrestrial infrastructure to create a seamless mobile network that works indoors, outdoors, and in cellular dead zones.
After nearly 3 years of work, we are launching the initial version of the site.
It features tens of thousands of wartime videos of abundance and luxury in Gaza, published by Gazans themselves - and much more.

Great summary of the $CABO situation.
Cable One's ($CABO) unsecured debt is trading under 30 cents. Its 1L TL is under 80.
This is a company that was ONCE valued at $13bn+ and now has a measly market cap of <$100mm.
Part of the reason (besides the whole sector being in shambles)? It owes GTCR an est. $480mm for the rest of MBI, a cableco whose price was locked in at the TOP of the cable cycle. That payment was due yesterday.
This morning, they announced a 1-week extension and disclosed that they're in advanced financing talks with GTCR, PC lenders, and "certain" existing lenders.
Here's what I think it means for the existing debt as well as equity and what could happen next

Starlink Community Host website went live yesterday.
I would not be surprised if their phone service ends up using a similar model. It is almost akin to the Helium network with money instead of crypto.
How It Works
Shared Equipment: The host installs a single Starlink kit and a network switch at a central location (such as an apartment building roof or community center).
Individual Subscriptions: Multiple users connect their own separate Wi-Fi routers to the shared dish network, maintaining independent accounts.
Host Role & Earnings: The host manages local equipment upkeep and subscriber onboarding, and they can earn a commission from Starlink for each active subscriber on the network.
