Prem Birhade, a young Dalit who recently graduated from the prestigious University of Sussex, was forced to forfeit a hard-earned employment opportunity at Heathrow Airport in London.
The reason? His former college, Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce in Pune, refused to verify his academic credentials, despite him submitting all required documentation.
Why? Because Prem is a Dalit!
The college’s principal, Dr. Nivedita Gajanan Ekbote, also serves as the Maharashtra Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the BJP. Given her political and ideological alignment with the Manuwadi BJP, one can only imagine the extent to which caste prejudice must have shaped her actions against SC, ST, OBC students in her academic career.
The same verification was provided when Prem had gone to London to study. When Prem requested the same verification again for his job, the college’s administration enquired of his caste!
Prem’s journey from Nardubar, a poor Tribal district, to UK was not easy one. Prem’s case is a glaring example of how systemic caste discrimination continues to haunt Dalit youth, even after they break through enormous social and economic barriers.
This case demands urgent attention and accountability. Prem’s story is not just his own, it is the story of countless Dalit students whose aspirations are crushed because of caste-discrimination.

So a Yadav from Haryana uploaded a picture of Brahmin but she's targeting SC/STs and SC/ST Act.
Basically these guys don't hate reservation or something but they hate you from the core.
SC/ST phobia is real.
If I took a picture of someone from SC-ST category and wrote the same thing, it would be an offence under the SC-ST Act.
This is what systemic bias, prejudice and hatred looks like.
They can abuse you, threaten rape, molest, and they have the default victim title from the State itself, “Dalit”.
What about you? No matter what they do to you, against you or say to you or against your caste as a whole.
You will be the default “oppressor”.
This is what caste hatred is.
Not the 5000 year fictional atrocity they cry about to gain leverage.

Nivedhika Krishnan from @the_hindu has published an important news on the deplorable state of female Adi-dravidar hostels in #Tamilnadu.
It is important to talk about the intersectionality of how the female hostels are lagging behind infrastructure wise even worse than the often talked about Adi-dravidar men's hostel . Even the number of hostels are 50 percent less in the case of female Adi-dravidar students in comparison to men .
I took the opportunity to speak to her on the same .

Sivaraj during his tenure as a mayor of erstwhile Madras in 1940s. Successive governments have expanded or renovated these facilities but they are still insufficient to cater to the
existing number of students. In Sivakasi, the government doubled a private residence into
a makeshift hostel. Over 50 college students were asked to share two rooms and three
bathrooms. Children are suffering as they have to wake up at 4 a.m. in the morning to use

Their community and most of their next of kin are settled in America there exists very little skin in the game to make policy in interest of Nation which is majorly SC/ST/OBC.

Honour killing victim Kavin's father Chandrasekar said his son and Priya (name changed) were close friends since their Class 11 and 12 days at a Thoothukudi private school. “Even after school, they remained in touch. During my trip to India, I ONLY ate in 5 star hotels and still contracted 4 types of Salmonella. The hotel apparently sourced their eggs from a filthy chicken farm right next to a literal mountain of trash. There are serious hygiene issues that must be addressed in India.
It is NOT racist to address the poor quality of life most Indians are subjected to while the upper caste insulates themselves from reality.
