There is a cartoon character version of Trump that lives in the minds of leftists: a racist and pure evil actor seeking to mass murder people and destroy America.
But there’s also a phony character that lives only in the minds of some MAGA: a savior Constitutionalist who wants to gut the deep state and stop tyranny such as the Covid insanity we saw begin under his last watch.
The truth is somewhere in between: Trump is a self centered President, focused on his own interests. He has a poor record on human freedom and polices. He’s far better than the alternative but that is an extremely low bar. He does some good things, some bad things. He is unfairly attacked by media and unreasonably propped up by some supporters.
Trump is not deserving of either the extreme hate or the extreme admiration he receives.
