I’m Gunnar. I’m over 50, down roughly 170 lbs, lift regularly, and use TRT + a GLP-1 prescribed by my doctor.
I became interested in something pretty simple: how do you get older without surrendering muscle, cardiovascular health or independence — and how much of the longevity industry is actually supported by evidence?
So I read the studies, track my own labs and write about what I find.
Strength training. Obesity medicine. TRT. Preventive health. Longevity. Occasionally calling bullshit.
That’s DadStrengthDaily.
This is wild. My Nest Protects all loudly announce *every* evening when I turn off the lights that they are going to expire in 3 months! Who thought that is a good idea?!
FWIW, I already ordered replacements but still have to listen to this every night!

I checked 93 stores that list "research use only" peptides like retatrutide and BPC-157.
23 openly publish mixing or dosing instructions, a dosing calculator, or health claims. Another 24 list bacteriostatic water.
19 of the 93 already have an FDA warning letter.
The label has not held up in court. Paradigm Peptides told the FDA in 2022 its products were "for research only" and sold until 2024. Its owner got 70 months in July: unapproved drugs sold with intent to defraud, plus illegal imports.

New hematology guideline: call iron deficiency at a ferritin of 30 or lower, not 15. In the pooled studies, 15 caught 41% of iron-deficient people and 30 caught 67%.
Mine was 14, 22 and 24. In a man, that needs an explanation.

TRIUMPH-1's NEJM appendix: 22.5% on retatrutide 12 mg had the dose permanently cut. Top reason: "perceived excessive weight loss" (9.8%), ahead of GI side effects (6.2%). They still count in the 28.3% headline.
On 4 mg, 3 in 4 stayed on it.

Is Scientific American really adopting the illegal peptide grey market “GLP-3” terminology? Why?
“The science is moving very, very fast”: The experimental GLP-3 weight-loss drug retatrutide just set a new milestone for these medications. Here’s what to know.

The peptide brand Sam Sulek says he co-owns sold a $285 retatrutide pen. Its own label says putting it into a human is "strictly prohibited by law." A site with the same logo showed you how to give yourself a shot.
Retatrutide isn't approved anywhere.
This month the FDA published warning letters to five sellers of research-only retatrutide. This company wasn't one of them. I put the whole story in a 7-minute video, every screenshot on screen:

New JAMA IM study, 101,148 patients: eating within 8h of a blood draw raised glucose 11% and triglycerides 20%. Cholesterol, LDL, HDL, blood count, kidney tests held steady. Fasting past 12h made no meaningful difference vs 8 to 12h.

Google sent thousands of users to a Chinese peptide seller (by way of a hacked NC town website).

Google openly promoting Chinese peptide scams now. Google “what peptides are covered by insurance”, click #1 blue link -> Chinese peptide spam WhatsApp.
Has been live for 2 weeks.

Google has been doing this for weeks.
Detailed writeup:
dadstrengthdaily.com/nc-town…
Town hacked, Google inadvertently promoting a Chinese peptide seller on WhatsApp. Two weeks and running.
The Town of Stoneville, NC's real government website was compromised. Google's crawler gets a normal-looking article; everyone else gets redirected into a WhatsApp group selling grey-market peptides, "30% off first order." Reported to the town, MS-ISAC, the host, and Google on day one — the site looked cleaned up for 5 days, then the redirect came right back.

Brenipatide. It's a Lilly GLP-1, and it has nothing to do with weight loss.
Four Phase 3 trials in alcohol use disorder and major depression, about 4,200 people. Not Zepbound, not Mounjaro — a different molecule entirely.
It's the only drug in this class with a company chasing those two approvals.
Novo ran CagriSema at two doses in REDEFINE 9. The lower 1.0/1.0 mg gave 20.95% weight loss at 68 weeks. The higher 1.7/1.7 mg gave 20.75%, slightly worse.
That second number is in a footnote of today's investor slides.
GLP-1 tracker updated dadstrengthdaily.com/glp1-pi…
BREAKING NEWS: Lilly is betting many millions to be first with a GLP-1 approved for drinking.
Four Phase 3 trials. About 4,200 people. Alcohol use disorder and major depression.
It never ran a Phase 2 in either one.
Opioid use disorder: 465-person Phase 2.
Smoking relapse: 222-person Phase 2.
Alcohol and depression: straight to Phase 3.
Same company, same drug, same year. Skipping the middle step buys years!
