Opus 5.5 cooks so hard on App Store screenshots… As always, drop feedback below before I submit to Apple👇 Serious question: are designers cooked?

Nah Claude Opus 5.5 is something else. I asked it to redesign my app's onboarding and along the way it found problems I had no idea existed, just from looking at how people were actually using it

Claude Opus 5.5 just killed Figma. I asked it to redesign my app's dashboard and 5 minutes later I had this It decided on its own to show me the design in its canvas before writing any code. Fable 5.1 did that too, but Opus 5.5 is way faster and designs so much better

For all new indie app builders: Posting on social media will NOT make you rich. Before I hit $10,000 MRR, I failed my first app and wasted 2 years. I loved meditation so I made Monkeyless a meditation screen time app. I couldn't let it go. For 2 years I posted organically everyday. I did not miss a single day, not ONE. I did: - 30,000,000 views in the span of 2 months after 1 year of little progress -Tortured myself with ridiculous videos like Rawdogging a clock for 8 hours -Embarassed myself in front of the camera since I'm not an extrovert -Tried slideshows, AI content, hired UGC creators, partnerships, every angle possible I still failed. I was sold the idea: "just post everyday, spark the winners and you get success". This is bad advice. Real takeaways after 2 years of failure: 1. Screen time niche is hard, I do not recommend 2. Don't post organically. Only exceptions: -To become familiar with social media in general -To become familiar with your specific niche -To get your first 500-1000 downloads But don't rely on it to make you real money. Use it as an experiment to get data and extrapolate from there. 3. Your #1 goal from launch is to discover whether your app is either a) worth scaling, or b) a flop. 4. Look at DATA. Download-to-paid rate, trial start rate, paywall showrate, optimize onboarding as much as possible especially if you have a hard paywall. 5. Be TRUTHFUL with yourself. If the data says your app sucks, your app sucks. Stop trying to save a sinking ship like I did. You don't need 2 years. You can determine this within 2 weeks. 6. Be careful who you listen to on X. I don't think people on here have bad intentions, but people like to exaggerate results and sell you a dream 7. No co-founders! You already make little money, don't split it even further. Maybe for the future, when you have more capital to scale, but don't do it for your first start-up. Luckily my social net was strong and I had many friends supporting me. Even when I failed, they liked my videos, recorded videos with me, and tried to give me advice even though their advice was bad 😂 Very grateful for them. Don't make the same mistakes I did!

Late 2026 and 2027 will be the years of app devs shipping mobile games. The art and the physics were the wall and models like Astra just removed it

OH MY GOSH ASTRA. GAMING = SOLVED! This is absolutely INSANE! This was not built in Blender. Nor was it built in Godot, Unity, or Unreal Engine. This is just Astra flexing its muscles on the rest of the models to say: I AM THE BEST What can I say? Is RocketLeagueBench saturated? I honestly think so at this point. My jaw is on the floor. This looks so incredibly good. Just you wait to see what people are going to build with this model. WOW.

GPT-6 Astra built this Manhattan world in Unreal Engine over the course of a week. It was literally able to go street by street to make each one perfect.

GPT-6 Astra is a beast. Give it a Zillow listing. It can 3D model the house based on the listing photos and create a cool promotion video. The video was just created in one shot and there are still some wrong details. But I am sure it will be much better if I ask it to polish further. OpenAI is so back.

Yep, and it's not just cloning anymore, you can take any app's design and have it adapted to your own features in one prompt literally
Kinda scary how easy it is to clone any app design with Fable 5.1 I cloned revolut’s design 99% accurately in just one prompt GPT-6 Astra should be able to get it to 100%…

Isn't this what Apple built Retention Messaging for? Afaik it only fires when someone taps Cancel Subscription in settings, not when they bounce off the paywall. Apple's own numbers: +1.4 points save rate on average, +5.5 with a promo offer. Open to everyone btw, you set it up under the subscription in App Store Connect and Apple approves the message before it goes live. The real-time API is the only part you still have to request.
They don’t want you to know this but you can send users branded iMessages when they abandon your paywall

Two months later, still not a cent spent on marketing. Organic is the way.

App Store violations should be punished. Nobody is arguing with that. But any punishment system that gives people no opportunity to improve or rehabilitate is very flawed. A permanent account ban is not proportional to what they did. It's like giving a death sentence for commiting tax fraud. Tax fraud is bad, but a death sentence is not proportional.

Claude can now run deep marketing research on tiktok You give it your niche and it comes back with an actual report: every top video, who's behind them, how long each account has been posting, and a content plan showing which hook formulas keep repeating. It reads the comments under the top videos too, by default now. That's where you learn why a video won: what people keep asking, what they complain about, what they want more of. So the plan isn't just copy this hook, it's make this, people are already asking for it. This run was skincare apps. I read the whole thing and had nothing to add, which felt a bit weird, it goes straight to your ugc creator, or to you if you're the one making the videos.

prayer lock found its final boss
My new app’s dark patterns are demonic

This app does $100k/month and every screen of its onboarding breaks a different Apple rule. I went through the Prayer Lock onboarding and I get why one article called it a masterclass. It asked me to rate the app TWICE before I’d done anything. The paywall says FREE in giant letters with “no payment now”. The $39.99/yr you’re actually signing up for is the smallest text on the screen. I declined and got an exit offer: $0.76/week, the real charge is nowhere on that screen. And there’s a discount countdown sitting in my dynamic island and on my lock screen as I write this 😭 Every one of these converts, that's exactly the problem. The devs following the rules are the ones losing.

Was reading the article and it lists PrayerLock as an onboarding masterclass, so I went to install it. While it downloaded I checked the developer’s other apps and their newest one already has a review: 1 star, “feels like a Christian money grab, no free trial, testimonials look like paid promos” Kind of funny that the same dev behind the masterclass onboarding is getting this. Going to go through both onboardings and see what’s different, will post what I find.

A TikTok account with 6K followers has 3.1M likes and every video is an ad for a hair app Hairu. AI hairstyle try-on, promoted from supra.pslgod > Takes a famous face, swaps the haircut with AI > Hook is always the same: “Curly looks better bro” > People fight in the comments about which one is better >Someone always drops their own pic asking to try it >Bio: download Hairu. That’s the whole funnel The same formula fits any AI edit app: > Pick faces everyone already has an opinion on. > Make the edit debatable, not impressive > Let the comments do the marketing > Keep the caption identical so the format is recognizable 563K views on a 5-second video of Lamine Yamal with straight hair
