HAPPY MONDAY 🏏 It's a lovely 17° in Port Elizabeth after raining almost continuosly from the time we got back to the hotel yesterday. I didn't think we'd see any play today but we've hopefully got a couple of hours of play to finish our Monday afternoon🤞 Hope everyone in Perth is having an amazing start to their week!! #RSAvAUS🏏 #GameDaySelfie📸 – at Port Elizabeth, South Africa

Super Sport are showing a replay of a previous #RSAvAUS test from Port Elizabeth and SA lead by 20 at stumps on Day 2. Hopefully that's not an omen for today's play 🤞 – at Port Elizabeth, South Africa

HAPPY SUNDAY 🏏 I'm enjoying my Sunday a world away from the last cricket match I saw and today we are in a wet but warm (18° with 92% humidity) Port Elizabeth for the 2nd test between South Africa and Australia at St George's Park. After 5.3 overs the covers are back on sadly but we have some delicious Castle Lagers to keep us (responsibly) hydrated during this rain delay🍻 #AUSvRSA🏏 #GameDaySelfie📸 – at Port Elizabeth, South Africa

Scenes as QLD take the win, despite captain Ashton Turner's best efforts with the bat (58 off 56 with 6 fours and a six) WA fell 15 runs short, losing 9/99 after looking in control at 1/147 in the 25th over. #OneDayCup

Happy Tuesday!! It's a lovely day in Perth (26° and clear) and that's perfect conditions for some cricket. Today we see #OneDayCup action at the WACA Ground, with WA taking on QLD. WA split the points in a rain effected game against SA, then lost by 9 wickets to TAS so this is a must win game today! My man Sam Fanning is out injured but the BIG Bison joins an experienced line-up with him, Agar, Turner and Cartwright all having played ODI cricket for Australia! Great to see the WACA Ground still has Running With Thieves cans behind the bar so we can stay hydrated today🍻 #WestIsBest🟡⚫ #GameDaySelfie📸 – at Perth, Western Australia

Fixturing in general is often odd. I know the WNCL is the lowest attended of all the domestic competitions but last week we had games on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in Perth despite Monday being a public holiday. Wouldn't it have made sense to hold one of the matches then??🤷

Happy Sunday! Today is #AFLW derby Day and thankfully the sun is out! It's also the 💯 th game for inaugural (and my favourite) Docker Hailey Miller! You might be able to spot a badge or two of her on my scarf! Hopefully we can keep our derby streak and season alive today, with four rounds to go after this (including the all conquering North Melbourne next weekend), every game is a must win game! #ForeverFreo⚓ #GameDaySelfie📸

I was lucky enough to get invited to the Cameron & Tuckey Medal night tonight, where Peel Thunder's best players are recognised. The 2026 Tuckey Medalist was defender Hugh Davies (192 votes), with ex-Collingwood VFL captain Lachie Tardrew a close second (190 votes) and delisted Docker Bailey Banfield 3rd (159 votes). Davies also picked up the Coaches Award and out of contract Docker Jarren Carr was awarded the Player of the Finals. #WAFL #ForeverFreo⚓ #GoThunder⚡

That was a bit of a fizzer of a run chase sadly from WA. Beth Mooney started with a four off the first ball but when she nicked one to the keeper in the 6th over the question was where would the runs come from? Heather Graham (27 off 40) and Mikayla Hinkey (60 off 84) put on 80 for the third wicket but with the run rate hovering around 4 an over meant that the required run rate was climbing above 7 an over. Chloe Ainsworth (58*) and Alana King (37) tried to help WA to an unlikely victory and were the only two batters to score at more than a run a ball. But unfortunately the two or three massive overs that were probably required to get the job done never came and despite batting out the overs WA fell 26 runs short at 7/273 #WNCL🏏 #WestIsBest🟡⚫

That was definitely one that got away for WA! Three wickets had fallen in the 10 minutes before I got here, which should have been 4/0 in 12 balls (thanks Nadine for the tip) had Chloe Piparo not dropped Nicola Carey. Carey made WA pay, putting on 156 for the 4th wicket before her (87 of 97) and partner Naomi Stalenberg (55 off 80 after being dropped on 43) both fell victim to Ruby Strange 5 balls apart in the 31st over. Once again, Tabitha Saville made vital runs (56 of 47), this time with support from Courtney Sippel (54* from 61), the pair putting on a 103 run stand for the 6th wicket. A wicket in the first ball of the final over was a bit of a course, 14 runs were scored thanks to three fours from incoming batter Lauren Smith. The final score was 7/299 with WA needing a run a bal to win. WA will also rue the 25 extras conceded. Will we see some more Mooney magic this evening? #WNCL🏏 #WestIsBest🟡⚫

Got here at 2:15 after finishing an email that took ages to write and a stroll though the beautiful Queen's Gardens and I've already missed THREE wickets🤣 The crowd is small (as expected) but they made some noise as the wickets fell, could hear it from across the road! #WNCL🏏 #WestIsBest🟡⚫ – at Perth, Western Australia

Happy Thursday! Today we are back at the WACA Ground for the second of two #WNCL clashes between WA and Tasmania. It's a much nicer day than early on Tuesday afternoon, though there is still a 5% chance of rain over the next couple of hours. Hopefully they won't spoil the match🤞 While it was a treat to see Beth Mooney at her best, the WA top order will need to provide her some much needed support, with Piparo, Hinkley and Graham combining for just 3 runs on Tuesday. WA will also want to ensure that we don't let the Tassie tail wag as that meant we had a much bigger target to chase than we should have done! #GameDaySelfie📸 #WestIsBest🟡⚫ – at Perth, Western Australia

Well, that was match to remember! WA in all sorts of bother in the fourth over as the rain started to fall and Heather Graham (1) joined Mikayla Hinkey (2) and captain Chloe Piparo (first ball duck) back in the sheds and at 3/20 a victory seemed unlikely. But Beth Mooney was still out there and she put on a 96 run partnership with Bahvi Devchand (37 off 38) to take the score past 100. The run rate was never an issue with WA scoring at 7 a over, moreso the wickets in hand, especially after a mini collapse of 3/12 thanks to Lauren Smith. But Mooney kept her cool , despite being dropped on 76 and despite having to deal with two bursts of drizzle mid innings, bringing up her 100 in the 31st over. At the other end, support came from Alana King who survived a slip turning for a quick single, later notching up an unbeaten half century herself. The pair passed the target of 232 with 14 overs to spare! #WNCL🏏 #WestIsBest🟡⚫ – at Perth, Western Australia
