This is burnout, and if you want to survive as a trader, you must learn to recognize it.
True burnout is not just being overworked, nor is it something you can push through. It is a feedback loop that occurs when your body experiences intense, prolonged stress.
Stress is part of life, and under normal conditions you can recover from it easily. In fact, many dimensions of human performance - strength, endurance, mental acuity - actually require stress in order to grow.
However, growth in response to stress can only happen when the stress is manageable and offset by periods of recovery. When the stress is extreme and constant, the body fails to adapt and enters a downward spiral.
As stress accumulates, several things happen physiologically:
- sleep is disrupted
- hormones become dysregulated
- mental performance degrades
- heart rate variability falls
- inflammation rises and immune function declines
The problem is that each of these effects also *reduces your ability to withstand and recover from stress.* So you enter a vicious cycle where recovery becomes impossible and performance steadily deteriorates.
The experience @agapestride describes here is exactly what it feels like to burn out from trading. And if you find yourself in this situation, the most important thing you can do is *recognize what has happened.*
You are not dumber than you used to be. You are not more indecisive. You are not more impulsive, fearful, or greedy. You are simply physiologically impaired by severe, chronic stress.
When you notice the signs of burnout, you must prioritize recovery above all else:
- cut your risk
- stop looking at charts
- get off social media
- play sports or start running
- spend time with friends and family
- go hiking or traveling
- take lots of hot baths
As much as it feels like the best time to make generational wealth is RIGHT NOW, the market will always be here. So take a break and don't come back until you know your body can handle it.

In life, you must choose your regrets.
“You'll regret it if you get married. You'll regret it if you don't get married. You'll regret it if you have kids, and you'll regret it if you don't.
Kierkegaard said this 200 years ago as follows:
‘Whatever you choose, you'll regret it. Because the problem isn't in your choices; it's in romanticizing a life you haven't lived.
A person always finds an untraveled path alluring and mysterious.
That's why the issue isn't making the right choice.
It's choosing and deciding which regret you'll live with.’
What have you decided?” — Salih Guney

Everyone will rotate to Bitcoin after seeing how everything in the world is a big fat ponzi, including shiny rocks, that can ALL rug to zero in a heartbeat.
If you're meant to be someone who's risk-averse and wants to stay away from extreme volatility,
You often resort to simple things like commodities.
Why would you do that now when you know Silver can nuke -40% in a day?
You're better off holding Bitcoin - greater upside, same volatility.

John Daghita (who apparently stole millions worth of crypto from the US Governement) sent @zachxbt .6767 ETH.
6... 7?

In case you are curious how John Daghita (Lick) was able to steal $40M+ from US government seizure addresses.
John’s dad owns CMDSS, which currently has an active IT government contract in Virginia.
CMMDS was awarded a contract to assist the USMS in managing/disposing of seized/forfeited crypto assets.
It still remains unclear at this point how John obtained access from his dad.

nearly every major ethereum on-chain metric is at record highs.
and it’s not by luck. Fusaka was a huge upgrade to ethereum scaling.
glamsterdam upgrade will further scale ethereum in various different ways, including the ways nodes process data.

The BTC rally since Sunday's Powell subpoena news has been largely driven by Coinbase spot buyers. You could see it on the Adjusted Coinbase Premium and on CVD.
A true hated rally. Even by bitcoiners themselves.
Every crypto chat room has been saying every day for over a month now how bitcoin s*cks while equities and commodities are "up only". And how it is time to move on.
Fun fact: equities are not up only - 40% of the S&P 500 stocks closed red in 2025 (39.2% to be precise). Perception is a bitch.
The DoJ going after Powell represented a major litmus test for bitcoin. After all, protecting against the tail risk of central bank profligacy is bitcoin's major long-run value proposition. Bitcoin had to go up on Monday. And it did, even if with a small lag.
I still think that BTC's key battleground is the 50 week moving average (WMA), now at 101,420. Looking forward to taking some profits where shorts get liquidated, right above 100k.

There’s a lot of speculation about why Trump moved against Maduro.
Most macro takes default to the familiar explanation: oil.
That framing is understandable but it misses the AI geo-political lens which has been the story since rare earth became the new oil in the AI military world.

Welcome to 2026! Milady is back.
Ethereum did a lot in 2025: gas limits increased, blob count increased, node software quality improved, zkEVMs blasted through their performance milestones, and with zkEVMs and PeerDAS ethereum made its largest step toward being a fundamentally new and more powerful kind of blockchain (more on this later)
But we have a challenge: Ethereum needs to do more to meet its own stated goals. Not the quest of "winning the next meta" regardless of whether it's tokenized dollars or political memecoins, not arbitrarily convincing people to help us fill up blockspace to make ETH ultrasound again, but the mission:
To build the world computer that serves as a central infrastructure piece of a more free and open internet.
We're building decentralized applications. Applications that run without fraud, censorship or third-party interference. Applications that pass the walkaway test: they keep running even if the original developers disappear. Applications where if you're a user, you don't even notice if Cloudflare goes down - or even if all of Cloudflare gets hacked by North Korea. Applications whose stability transcends the rise and fall of companies, ideologies and political parties. And applications that protect your privacy. All this - for finance, and also for identity, governance and whatever other civilizational infrastructure people want to build.
These properties sound radical, but we must remember that a generation ago any wallet, kitchen appliance, book or car would fulfill every single one of them. Today, all of the above are by default becoming subscription services, consigning you to permanent dependence on some centralized overlord.
Ethereum is the rebellion against this.
To achieve this, it needs to be (i) usable, and usable at scale, and (ii) actually decentralized. This needs to happen at both (a) the blockchain layer, including the software we use to run and talk to the blockchain, and (b) the application layer. All of these pieces must be improved - they are already being improved, but they must be improved more.
Fortunately, we have powerful tools on our side - but we need to apply them, and we will.
Wishing everyone an exciting 2026.
Milady.
