The Beverly caribou herd has been in near-terminal decline since the 90s for undetermined reasons. They're one of few large herds whose habitat intersects with consistent human activity (winter roads to diamond mines north of Yellowknife). There've been rumours of a comeback, but we're finally seeing numbers that confirm it! Given the pressure on arctic ecosystems, it's great to see signs of resilience instead of the typical slow decay. cbc.ca/news/canada/north/sig…

According to Mark Johnson, If we stop requiring CPP payments from every Canadian today, we’d still end up with a huge surplus. This seems like an obvious tax cut to make? @TheHubCanada thehub.ca/2025/07/23/mark-jo…

Add @mattroberts point on how little of CPP (and other pensions) are actually invested in 🇨🇦 …. we should either force pensions to adjust how we allocate capital geographically (keep more investment flowing back into the country) or stop over-withdrawing from taxpayers.

#1 KPI for new cdn government - new units of housing built per month. If we can’t break through the 250K a year ceiling, we haven’t fixed the right problems.

I ❤️ this thanks @buildcanada 🙌 FR: look forward one quarter and show "projected" just to give us visibility in what to expect to happen in the next quarter.
Introducing: Outcomes Tracker 🧭 We wanted to better understand what our government is working on. So we built a tracker to: - Understand key commitments - Track their progress over time - See how they impact outcomes Check it out below 👇

Does anyone else find it odd that the #cdn gov't has tried to assert it's country's independence by inviting another country's monarch to open parliament? IMO pointing out Canada's allegiance to the (irrelevant) British monarchy does not assert sovereignty or power, if anything it asserts the opposite. Am I missing something?
My only opinion on the Kings throne speech is that it’s weird that this has not been a more regular occurrence? Like was Liz just lazy? Certainly does not need to be every year, but following an election? Should be more typical than it has been.

Regardless of whose side you are on, there's one thing that's very confusing to me about @PierrePoilievre's approach to Trump. He is neither seen as standing up to Trump NOR does he have Trump's vote of confidence. So he somehow lost both sides of this (very important) issue. Check out this quote from the a recent Bloomberg article on Carney calling Trump.

Love the platform tracker by @buildcanada. It’s now super easy to keep track of promises made by each candidate - as we get closer to decision day and the velocity of promises start to escalate. #CanadaElection2025
