We quietly launched creator monetization three months ago. Several creators have already passed $10k/mo.
Our focus since hasn't been the launch. It's been making the two-sided network actually scale.
Most revenue share products fail the same way. They reward the creator and ignore the consumer.
You cannot pay the creator producing poor content the same as the creator producing the best.
Activity is not quality.
YouTube figured this out a long time ago. They don't pay for uploads. They don't pay for views. They pay for retained attention, weighted by what that attention is worth. The best creators earn the most because the system measures whether anyone actually stayed.
