This short film gives soil (biocrust) the credit it deserves! Well done @KrstinaYoung
Biocrust is so beautifully portrayed in this film project I was fortunate enough to be a part of 😍 I am so grateful for the opportunity to tell a whole new audience (outdoor recreation enthusiasts!) about how amazing #biocrust is! #scicomm youtu.be/XguYw16YsDY?si=UvuX…
Soils, bikes, conservation, and cool videography? Can I get more of this? Kudos @TheRadavist et al for creating this excellent short film. youtu.be/XguYw16YsDY?si=0MpJ…
Here’s to all of us who don’t have anyone to watch their children if they’re sick but still make it work. And to our supportive colleagues and students.

Even with the inflation reduction act we still need to do more to curb emissions and reduce warming nytimes.com/interactive/2022…
Hey look at these exceptional students presenting research they’ve worked diligently on! #AGU23 @BYU_Science @BYUgeology #WomenInSTEM
A fun and inspiring night @DENINUD ! Thank you for letting me continue to be a part of this great event 🙏
Congratulations to our DENIN #Pitch90 winners and to all participants for excellent 90 second research pitches!

Looking for a good podcast for your commute? The folks @ConstantWonder_ make a good one!
Efforts to save the June Sucker fish are bringing new life to the ecosystem of Utah Lake. In this episode, @thermokarst and @cyclientist discuss how scientists, government officials, and community members are looking out for an ecosystem unlike any other.

I wonder if they'd take any of my classes if I started teaching summer term?
Replying to @cyclientist @thermokarst
The on-campus enrollment is probably a half dozen, but they tend to only register for the really early and late classes during summer term 🙂
Next semester my wife goes back to work and I’ll be on parental leave. As an assistant prof, I am equal parts excited and anxious. Anyone else out there who has taken a pre-tenure semester of leave have any advice? @AcademicChatter
No better way to spend the last day of classes than in the field! Thanks @LambertAusten (TA extraordinaire) for all your help this semester!
Beautiful winter morning with @cyclientist and the Environmental Soil Chemistry class learning more about the unique chemistry of Utah Lake! @BYUgeology
My birthday is next week and to celebrate I’ll be in the field all week! Hoping all our prep leading up to this pays off. Utah Lake and Bentonite Hills here we come!
Revisiting a 50 year old dataset and applying current geostatistics is fun. These images show carbonate distribution in the sediments of Utah Lake as measured in 1974. Can you guess which is the newly created version?
Kudos to @LambertAusten , undergrad extraordinaire, for putting this together.
