This quote from OpenAI is telling. Translation: We have a rapidly closing window to get this IPO out the door before the bubble bursts, our CFO doesn't want to go through with it because our books are a mess, but Sam is filing anyway.

Steve Wozniak reportedly says AI keeps disappointing him, and that is why he barely uses it. Wozniak is also pointing at something deeper: human value is not just accuracy, since people bring judgment, tone, emotional context, and a sense of what matters. So when AI feels “too perfect” and “too dry,” the problem is not style alone, but a gap between language generation and human understanding. --- techspot. com/news/111806-steve-wozniak-disappointed-lot-ai-rarely-uses.html

Retracted: Windows 12 "report." PCWorld basically retracting its own Windows 12 “exclusive” is the real story today. It shows how often rushed, inaccurate reporting is slipping into the tech cycle as publishing gets more competitive and, frankly, more desperate. Their editor even acknowledged the piece never should have gone live. What made it worse is how fast the original claim spread. One bad report about an “AI‑focused Windows 12 shipping this year” blew up across social and forums, even though Microsoft isn’t planning a Windows 12 launch in 2026 and is focused on stabilizing Windows 11 and dialing back AI bloat. We don't care what you want to call it (probably 'Copilot PC', or 'AI slop hub' in the next version). It'll always be "My Computer" in our hearts! (protip: you can rename it in explorer, at least for the time being) redd.it/1qed2g3

Sam Altman claims AI will continue to improve human life and will get better. But all I see is a greedy dick who is raising the prices of consumer electronics while lying to shareholders that he will have a return on their investment…. Cool
OpenAI made deals to purchase ~40% of the global raw, undiced DRAM wafer output until 2029 millions of raw DRAM wafers that cannot be used until they're processed

Microsoft is finally making "AI Actions" in Windows 11 truly optional after user feedback. The AI Actions option appear in Windows 11 when you right-click an image, and it lets you blur or remove background, erase objects using apps like Paint or Photos, and reverse search image on Bing. But AI Actions aren't exactly useful, as they're just a shortcut to one of the apps, and do nothing special. You you can already use options like "Edit in Paint" or "Photos" to access blur or background removal AI tools. Soon, you can remove AI Actions from the right-click menu in File Explorer and other places by unchecking all toggles in Settings > Apps > Actions!
