At #ELCAnnual in SF today and tomorrow. 👋
Lots of engineering leaders shipping AI agents into production. Our question: once that agent talks to customers, who's checking what it says?

AI is clearing support tickets faster than ever.
Whether customers are actually better off? Nobody's answered that well.
We're building an honest benchmark with the teams living it. <7 min, $50 Amazon gift card for completing it.

Self-driving cars are poised to be one of the biggest public health gains ever.
I'm biased. 95% of my last 19,000 miles in my Tesla were self-driving. And when I'm not in my own car and Waymo is an option, it's the only thing I use, freeways included. But the numbers back it up.
Waymo publishes its safety data. 271 million driverless miles, compared to human drivers on the same streets.
The big one: crashes with serious injuries or deaths are down 95%.
If you're the passenger:
- 95% fewer crashes bad enough to set off the airbags in the car
- 97% fewer single-car injury crashes
If you're anyone else on the road:
- 93% fewer pedestrian injury crashes
- 86% fewer biker injury crashes
- 82% fewer motorcycle injury crashes
- 96% fewer injury crashes at intersections, where a lot of the worst car on car crashes happen
Then I did some napkin math. What if every car in America drove like this?
About 39,000 people died on US roads in 2024 and 2.4 million got hurt. Apply Waymo's numbers and you get roughly:
- 30,000 fewer deaths a year
- 2 million fewer injuries
- 6,500 pedestrians and 950 bikers who'd still be here
- 110,000 fewer pedestrians and bikers hurt
That's about 90 people a day.
It's not that simple of course. Waymo's published numbers are city streets only so far (funny enough, no freeway data yet), in places without snow, and there aren't enough miles yet to call fatalities on their own. So don't hold me to the exact number. Even half of it would be a lot of people.
Every Waymo fender bender ends up in the news. Over 100 people die on US roads every day and nobody writes about it.

Lots of unitQ folks on stage today. In Austin, Mike Krug, our Director of Product, joined the "When AI Becomes the Customer" panel at #ReutersMomentum with Cigna Group, Phillips 66 and Coty.
When an agent does the buying, friction becomes a lost sale nobody sees.
🤯 wow.. is math about to be solved?
"this model has now resolved more than 100 long-standing open problems across most areas of mathematics"

Coyote thankful for epic reaction time and handling by fsd @teslasi
I didn’t even see it until it would have been too late … unbelievably good tech.. you all rock 🤘
I was one of the lucky first ~1,000 to get FSD beta access.. and it just hit me that was 5 years ago! Such a privilege and exciting time to experience the progress... kind of like living on the technological frontier. It's a smidge bittersweet .. but the new FSD updates no longer excite me, as it is, in my opinion, already solved. It's incredible. The last 18k miles, I'm at 95% self-driving. The other 5% is because it is sometimes fun to drive.
@elonmusk and team, you did it! Remarkable and well done!

A major bank, a language app, and a pizza chain may have nothing in common on paper. But all three earned a spot on our 2026 Epic Awards list of the highest-quality apps.
The shared habit? They treat customer feedback as the input that sets the roadmap. unitQ CEO @cwiklund shares what that looks like in @Forbes → forbes.com/councils/forbeste…
AI was supposed to give research teams time back. The people I see using it most effectively have the least room on their calendars.
My read is the work didn't shrink, the scope grew. More surface area, same headcount, and nobody went back and adjusted the plan.
I'd rather know than guess, so we're running a short interview with research professionals: what AI actually took off your plate, what filled the gap, and what your team did about it. Full disclosure, it runs on interviewQ, which we build. Results go back to everyone who participates.
