'Dulce Et Decorum Est', by Wilfred Owen. Unflinchingly horrifying; viscerally excoriating; heartbreakingly poignant. Still the best and most powerful poem I've ever read.

repressed eroticism
or something. I was looking at confessional paintings for something else, and there's something in the composition and scenery intent that reminded me of pyramus and thisbe. so this is. a combination of all those things.

I know I don't tweet much, but I'm still here for now.
I'm also on Instagram under the same username if anyone wants to stay in touch!
Here is a bonus picture of a hedgehog from last evening.

Right now (3:57pm) is the exact moment of the solstice, when the earth's axis in the northern hemisphere is closest to the sun. It also marks the official start of summer.

The fact that there are multiple candidates for what this linear regression is blows my mind 🤯
(Original, of course: xkcd.com/2347/)

ALT This is an edited version of the XKCD "Dependency" cartoon, which shows a number of blocks balanced very precariously on top of a tiny block. The many large blocks have been labelled "All modern medicine" and the tiny block is labelled "A linear regression equation based on ~20 patients published in like 1970."
Is anyone else getting a spate of really close together ads on here? It seems like it's every 3 or 4 tweets...

OK here we go. Conceivably the greatest, most technical accomplishment in the history of natural history art: nearly 4000 glass models of flowers created by Rudolph and Leopold #Blaschka for @HarvardMuseum. None of the objects in here look like glass.
Readers, they're all glass.
