Meet Scout 1.0, our first AI model built for investigating production incidents.
Scout matches frontier-model investigation quality at a fraction of the cost, which makes it practical to investigate more issues, earlier.
We trained Scout on realistic simulations built from real-world incidents and production telemetry, using reinforcement learning to reward accurate root causes backed by evidence.

The last time building software sped up ~10x (early 2000s, the agile movement), a massive interest in automated testing followed almost immediately (unit tests, TDD, XP etc)
Today, building software sped up 10x, easily: and a similar massive interest in automated testing + verification is following...
Hi New York friends, I'll be speaking at the next #LeadDev New York Meetup, next Wednesday, Mar 25th at the beautiful Datadog offices in Midtown! My talk is called "Building Developer Products in the Agentic Age" RSVP today! meetup.com/leaddev-meetup-ne…
Prompt engineering is like trying to teach your dog tricks by giving it an instruction manual: frustratingly hit-or-miss.
In my latest post I show you how to use our new #RAGSys API to dynamically retrieve few-shot examples, so your LLM learns by example, not guesswork.
Use all the reasoning/test-time compute you want, even the best LLMs are stuck with information frozen at training time.
Read up on our latest technique for KPI-driven self-improving LLMs in our latest blog:

It's time to rethink the MTEB benchmark. When picking embeddings, what works for search isn't always what works for #RAG. Read about our proposal for a better benchmark for RAG+ICL embeddings here: reddit.com/r/MachineLearning… #ICLERB #LLMs
Do you clerb? ICLERB!
Introducing the In-Context Learning Embedding and Reranker Benchmark (#ICLERB)! It evaluates retrieval models for #LLM in-context learning, based on downstream task performance, not text similarity.

I don't get it, how is "baiting him into angry rants" a good thing? She just set him up to deliver his campaign messaging. These same "angry rants" are exactly what has him tied in the polls. Not enough convincing rebuttals. I don't see how this was a win at all.
I'm glad we're feeling good here, but how can you allow someone to vilify immigrants that way and get away with it? It's not enough to fact-check or smirk. Expose the hatred behind his lies. Unite us in our humanity. Don't laugh.

Meta Llama 3 is out now and available on Replicate.
This language model family comes in 8B and 70B parameter sizes, with context windows of 8K tokens.
The models beat most other open source models on industry benchmarks and are licensed for commercial use.

Did you know Spotify's always had this feature? It's called Recommended Songs, and it works on any playlist, even with just a title. Doing it with LLMs makes a lot of sense now, exciting launch! I wonder how it does on the #millionplaylistchallenge? 😉 techcrunch.com/2024/04/07/sp…
Ugh wrong hashtag. Should have been #millionplaylistdataset and not #millionplaylistchallenge. I'm out of practice.
