My dad just had a stroke... So... I've been pretty out of it. I know you're in healthcare but... 3 things to remember when working with people post-stroke that I've learned in the last 7 days.

Academic writing is 20% having something to say, 20% knowing how say it, and 60% telling your brain to that you have a right to say it.

Just helped a little *old* lady across the street. Literally. Went to pick up my car after they patched the tire and she was dropping hers off. She had a cane and I heard her say out loud “oh should have brought my walker. I don’t know why I didn’t”I offered to help her walk 1/4 – at Chicago, IL

Great little rabbit hole to go down
I remember thinking the patient needed to listen to me during a session - turns out I needed to listen to them and even then (it's more complex than that)

I remember thinking there were secret little spots in the body you could jab or press and that would take away pain - turns out it's more complex than that. (there aren't)
