What actually happened is that the Right Wing, who for years tried the "stop shoving gay rights down our throats" line, lost their fight against marriage equality, and targeted the T so that they could eventually get gay rights back in the Overton window, which they have done.
I understand that many in the transgender community are feeling angry, afraid, and frustrated with the changes happening in the world right now. But remember this:
People didn’t take issue until you targeted children, women, and the LGB.
This situation is a result of your actions—either you participated in them or stayed silent while they happened.
