Restoration would have been complete, but for 2 things. One, the conviction of his predecessor at the Hague & best frenemy VP Sara. Two, revival of the economy. For the narrative that we'd have been 1st world had we stuck with them is being debunked by lived experience today.

Govt wrecked the economy thru bad policies. Creating the dilemma whether or not to spend on projects to boost it.
Let's not fall for that. I'd rather we have clean growth
Now that's a fitting reward. Chief Justice Absuelto.

There's no point to BSPs monetary tightening if the National Government is engaged in pre-election pork barrel spending. What NG has to do is tighten it's belt. Cut all that wasteful deficit spending to 1-2% of GDP at PNoy levels. Keep it there for a decade.

A year after flood scandal, watchdogs find P1 trillion in new budget red flags.

If we got rid of it, we would solve our deficit problem. Our budget would be balanced. Our debt to GDP ratio would go down. Let's get rid of it. Get rid of the politicos who ask for it.
ISANG TRILYONG PISONG 'PORK'? 💸🐷
Civil society watchdogs have flagged more than P1 trillion in allegedly discretionary and politically vulnerable allocations in the House-approved 2027 national budget.

So if Brazil's presidency had been elected based on plurality or first past the post, like ours in the Philippines, Lula would have lost to Bolsonaro. Since they had a runoff, he got over the line. How is this a lesson for the Philippines? Other than it has to be a 2 party race?
They took funds from foreign assisted railway flagship projects and gave it to DPWH for pre-election projects for the cong-traktors? That's why they moved Dizon out and a new guy in because he was taking his job too seriously? Otherwise why disrupt the reforms with a reshuffle?
LOPEZ: KULANG SA BUDGET, DAHILAN NG ANTALA SA MGA PROYEKTO

Lopez cited the ongoing construction of MRT Line 7, saying he expects the project to begin partial operations by 2027. He also said he would continue working with Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, with whom he exchanged department leadership roles on Monday. | Mikaella Veraces
