The thoughts and deepest sympathies of everyone in Clare GAA are with Emma (McHugh) Nash, Diarmuid Nash, the McHugh family, their wide circle of friends, and all in Donegal and Kilcar GAA following the tragic passing of James and Noreen McHugh in a road traffic collision.
James will forever be remembered as one of Donegal's greatest footballers – an All-Ireland winner and All Star with his brother Martin in 1992, a small man in stature but a colossus of immense courage, skill and humility on the field whose influence on Gaelic games reached far beyond his native county.
Having celebrated the marriage only last June of Emma and Diarmuid - proudly known to us all in Clare as our All Ireland handball champion from Tuamgraney Handball Club and prominent hurler with Scariff, this heartbreaking loss of Noreen and James is felt deeply across the entire GAA community.

Shane Meehan has scored 2-13 in this year’s Allianz Hurling League, but did you know he’s a very talented dual star?
The Banner clubman won the Munster Minor Footballer of the Year award in 2019, he won a Minor Hurling All-Star in the same season.
