Built an app with Hologram or a library for it? @Bart_Blast created a Showcase to collect Hologram projects and help developers considering Hologram see what others are building.
We’d like to help more of them get seen. Submit yours:

Finding vulnerabilities is getting cheaper. Fixing them is not.
On 8 October, @AnthropicAI opened OSS Scanner: free, periodic scans for eligible open-source projects. Reports are model-generated and not reviewed by a person before they reach maintainers. Each comes with a reproducer and, where possible, a candidate patch. Anthropic says its models flagged over 29,000 candidate vulnerabilities in six months, and that in an expert check 85 of 97 critical and high-severity findings (88%) met its disclosure bar.
A day later, the BEAM There, Done That podcast asked Ingela Andin, who has maintained the TLS stack in Erlang/OTP for over 20 years, what happens on the receiving end. AI agents help narrow down and summarize a report; a person verifies it. Fixes are patched across three supported OTP releases at once, and CVE and SBOM records are published through the EEF's CNA on release day.
For teams running Elixir in production, the work moves downstream:
→ Stay on a supported OTP release, so security fixes reach you as an upgrade, not a migration.
→ Contribute local OTP patches upstream. A private patch has to be carried forward on every upgrade, which slows down each security update.
→ Put security checks in CI: Sobelow for your own code, and a dependency scan for mix.lock (for example Google's OSV-Scanner GitHub Action). In our State of Elixir 2025 survey, 69.6% of respondents used Credo, but only 29.5% used Sobelow.
→ If you maintain a library, publish a security policy and enable private vulnerability reporting.
How long does it take your team to ship an OTP or dependency security update today?

We’re looking for a React Native developer at Curiosum: full-time, fully remote, for a long-term B2B/freelance contract.
You’ll work on a medtech project for our client in Germany, with the possibility of contributing to more of their products over time.
👉 Independence matters to us. We’re looking for someone who can take a problem, figure out how to solve it, and deliver the solution. We also expect AI tools to be a regular part of your day-to-day development work.
The stack: React Native and TypeScript, with Elixir on the backend.
A couple of practical details:
👉 You must be based in the European Union.
👉 Start date: 1 November, with an earlier start potentially possible.
If this sounds like an opportunity for you, send us a DM or email [email protected].
And if someone comes to mind, tag them in the comments or share this post with them.

Last week, Marta Habdas and Bart Blast represented Curiosum on stage at Goatmire in Varberg, Sweden.
In “Controlled Noise on Nerves”, Marta explored how to turn noisy sensor readings into musical control.
Bart, the creator of Hologram, presented “Hologram in Practice: A Local-First App in Pure Elixir”.

Sharing the work behind these talks is part of how the Curiosum team contributes to the Elixir ecosystem, giving other developers ideas and approaches they can build on.
Proud of Marta and Bart, and grateful to the Goatmire team for bringing the community together!

It’s been a while since we mentioned our LinkedIn group, Elixir Community by Curiosum.
Share an Elixir project, article, or question. Get feedback, exchange ideas, or read along.
If you know our elixir-hub.com, the group complements it with something we want to make more room for: conversations between the people who build, share, and use those resources.

Elixir devs were already using AI heavily in 2025:
Claude Code 55.2%
Tidewave 32.3%
Copilot 32%
Cursor 24.8%
But reported productivity impact averaged just 3.01/5.
The next State of Elixir survey will show what changed.

In our 2025 Elixir Survey, 85.7% of respondents said they used Phoenix LiveView. How would that number look this year?
The Elixir ecosystem keeps changing, and there are more things worth measuring now - Hologram is one example, but probably not the only one.
What numbers, trends, tools, or changes in the Elixir community would you like to see reflected, what is interesting for you, or can help you at your work?
Share your ideas in the comments.

Schema changes get harder when producers and consumers deploy independently.
For additive changes, update the consumer first, so it accepts v1 and v2 before producers start sending v2.
If legacy support grows, isolate it in a compatibility layer.

We spent our summer Curiosum weekend near Powidz Lake, playing games, sailing, watching the sunset, and spending time together outside the usual work setting.
Nothing complicated. Just good days with the team.
