Transcontinental railroad: built in 6 years (1869) Golden gate bridge: 4 years (1937) Hoover dam: 5 years, finished 2 years early (1936) The Pentagon, largest office building on earth: 16 months (1943) These were all built by citizens buying bonds. Now, the infrastructure bond issuance process can take as long as it used to take to build this feats. It's time for a major overhaul of how muni bonds are issued.
What do the greatest feats of American ingenuity have in common? They were mostly funded by normal citizens buying bonds.

I taught it to sing Wonderwall Chimera looks up pronunciations in CMUdict, falls back to letter-to-sound rules, and turns the resulting sounds into timed gestures that it can reuse for each lyric. The future is now

social media app that you can only join or post on by connecting to physical locations. Maybe instead of a USB, its an RFID chip hidden somewhere that you tap for access with a timestamp that runs out after a few minutes.

As I've said many times, we are entering a golden age of software. If you need more proof, just open your eyes.

This is the first devcon that I've missed where I feel no fomo. Both a sign of the times and a reflection of my path diverging as I grow. I miss a lot of you, I hope you're all having fun in India.

Tuesday's election should force a reckoning in crypto: not because the industry needs to switch parties, but because it must confront what it overlooked in pursuit of favorable policy.
