AI has massive echos of RMS Titanic disaster. Technology developing at pace, over confidence in abilities, lax regulation.

OpenAI could be the single side hull

Retrospective law changes around a cap in donations. Mostly just shows how out of their depth current politicians are if they have to sort to games like this.

If there's a problem here and there might be it should be addressed in a timely way, not rushed through parliament

It will take horrific loss of life for any sensible and serious consideration of risks and any form of action

Politicians making the same mistakes. Not understanding what they are legislating, misunderstanding the impacts and getting regulation very wrong.

The Artificial Human - Are we all AI hypocrites? @BBCRadio4 Comparing advent of AI to advent of photography is a false equivalency. AI is more like a sophisticated photocopier. The problem is AI relies on others IP/copyright to train itself .. nothing like a camera.

The only reason AI works at all is the machine learning over existing IP/copyright. Camera doesn't need to reference artworks created before photography to work.

So Impressionists adapting painting in response to photography. You adapt in response to AI and it will just copy/learn how to rip off your response .

And placing a something on statutes means it can be used and abused. Look at indeterminate sentencing and how the legal system has abused that process.
