Intro 1107 will remove housing from NY neighborhoods and make housing even more expensive & hard to find than it already is. Join us in telling the City Council to oppose this bill!
NYC is facing a housing crisis. Now, proposed legislation advanced by Airbnb would make it worse by turning our homes into hotels, driving up rents & gutting housing protections. Housing should be for us, not for generating windfall profits for Airbnb. Reject Airbnb & its bill.

Actually Jeff, doubling your taxes would generate millions in revenue for the city to help fund affordable housing and stronger tenant protections, like the ones we’re fighting for with @NNPNYC !
Bezos on CNBC: "You could double the taxes I pay, and it's not gonna help that teacher in Queens. I promise you."

The consensus is clear: Short-term rentals harm renters, homeowners and communities. That’s why our coalition is fighting to protect NYC’s neighborhoods from Airbnb’s corporate greed. Learn more and get involved at: neighborsnotprofits.org

We stand with the owners at 212 Jefferson. Black and Brown displacement is plaguing our city and deed theft is just one of the ways families are being pushed out. We will continue to fight for an eviction moratorium for owners facing deed theft and call out unjust legal action.
Council Member Chi Ossé was just arrested while defending his constituent, Carmella Charrington, from eviction. This is the result of deed theft and the ongoing displacement of Black homeowners in Bed-Stuy. Our office is closely monitoring this situation and will provide updates as this develops.

Governor Hochul, you have the power to take action and enact a moratorium and we urge you to do so now. CM Chi Osse has just been arrested alongside several other Bed Stuy neighbors. There is an urgent need for jail support. Join us NOW in solidarity at the 79th precinct.

We'll say it until we're hoarse: we refuse to be complicit in Trump's cruel, anti-immigrant agenda. My 'New York For All' Act ensures city and state agencies focus on keeping us *all* safe, not doing ICE's dirty work. And we'll keep fighting until we've passed it into law.

Busy and inspiring day in Albany meeting with advocates working every day to strengthen our schools, protect our environment, expand housing access, support immigrants, invest in the arts, and care for seniors. Always grateful to see Marion Waldman from @teachmykid2read and talk about expanding science-of-reading initiatives through our libraries. Great to connect with Tamara McCaw about how we can support and preserve @BAM_Brooklyn, one of Brooklyn’s cultural anchors. And a terrific meeting with Rob Solano and Ceci Sturman from @CUFFH to discuss housing stability and know-your-rights campaigns. Making sure these voices are centered is essential to delivering a just and equitable state budget.

⚖️ The Access to Representation Act would guarantee immigrants facing deportation the right to legal counsel in NY State, ensuring they have a fair chance to fight for their freedom and dignity. Let’s pass the #AccesstoRepresentationAct now! @NYCLU @phara4assembly @CUFFH

Busy day in Albany—meeting with 1199SEIU, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Families for Safe Streets, and rallying alongside Settlement Houses. Not pictured: meetings with @CUFFH, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and Brooklyn Botanic Garden. All vital organizations doing essential work—and all deserve to be made whole in this year’s budget.

What’s happening in Minnesota is appalling—and unacceptable in any American city. Democrats sought common sense reforms in the Department of Homeland Security spending bill, but because of Republicans’ refusal to stand up to President Trump, the DHS bill is woefully inadequate to rein in the abuses of ICE. I will vote no. Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.

Patient safety is nurses' #1 concern. It’s irresponsible for hospitals to force nurses on strike and rely on inadequate contingency plans to care for patients. We don't want replacement nurses here, we want a fair contract now!
