🚨 IF YOU SEE SMOKE, FLY AWAY! When you see wildfire smoke, CAL FIRE and partner aircraft are likely working that fire — dropping retardant, coordinating suppression, and saving lives. Entering that airspace puts everyone at risk. Flying into active wildfire airspace is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) violation, and it could ground the aircraft protecting your communities. Do not risk a midair collision. Know the rules before you fly. Protect the pilots protecting your state. #CALFIRE #WildfireSafety #AntiIncursion #AviationSafety #Pilots

Big Bear’s beloved bald eagle couple, Jackie and Shadow, are officially empty nesters after their eaglet, Luna, took flight for the first time Monday, flying to a nearby tree where Dad was proudly waiting. On Sunday, Luna’s sibling, Sandy, accidentally fledged after falling from the nest. Friends of Big Bear Valley said Sandy appeared to be on another branch below, outside of camera view.

A bumblebee approaches a vibrant lavender blossom in my front yard. 🐝🪻 Our weather pattern is transitioning from "June Gloom" to "No-Sky July," with marine clouds lingering at night and in the morning before giving way to increasing afternoon clearing. 😶‍🌫️ One fly in the ointment is the possibility of localized Santa Lucia (northeasterly/offshore) winds developing Sunday morning. If these winds materialize, they could suppress marine cloud formation along portions of the coast, allowing for more sunshine through much of the day. 🌬️🌤️ For my complete weather forecast, please visit the links below: 🔗 – at Los Osos, CA

🎆 LEAVE IT TO THE PROS. In seconds, dry grass becomes a wildfire. In seconds, a firework becomes a life-altering injury. Every year, fireworks spark preventable fires and send thousands of people to the emergency room. Skip the risk. Attend a professional fireworks show and help keep your community safe this Fourth of July. #FireworksSafety #LeaveItToThePros #WildfirePrevention #OneLessSpark #ReadyForWildfire

Heads up SLO County! A heat wave is heading our way starting tomorrow. For tips on how to prepare for excessive heat, visit PrepareSLO.org
High pressure combined with offshore winds will lead to significant warming on Wed, especially for coastal portions of Santa Barbara and SLO Counties. Prepare by avoiding the outdoors during the peak heat of the day, and seek air conditioning. Also look before you lock! #caheat

🚩 UPDATE: The Red Flag Warning has been expanded to include portions of the Bay Area. Critical fire weather conditions are expected through Thursday. Stay prepared, enable emergency alerts, and monitor the latest information from the National Weather Service.
🚩 RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT 🚩 Critical fire weather is expected across portions of the northern Sacramento Valley from Wednesday morning through Thursday afternoon. Strong north winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation will create conditions where any new fire could spread quickly. Be ready, not reactive. Pack a go bag, make sure emergency alerts are enabled, and take time to prepare your home and family in case an evacuation becomes necessary. Stay informed, stay prepared, and stay aware. #RedFlagWarning #ReadyForWildfire #CALFIRE #WildfireSafety #CAwx
