AI has replaced the technical *need* for artists, officially. generative AI is just too good as someone who was an artist his whole life, and has made hundreds(!!!) of thousands from the craft, i welcome this entirely it was quite selfish to demand that creation MUST be limited by years of technical practice and perfection. it reminds me of how boomers would complain kids these days make music on their computer instead of picking up a guitar the music sounds good, what more do you need? technical display is something that can be additive and enhance a work, and nobody is stopping you from simply bringing your human intervention to generative work where you need your own creative control over what the model did not get right according to your vision but that is the key word, VISION. generative AI allows anyone to bring that vision about quicker with less monotony, and it has become clear the difference between AI slop and AI gem has become simply he who prompted the machine the internet and culture move at the blink of an eye, it was frankly annoying to have to sit down and draw or 3D sculpt and rig shit for stuff as simple as memes or content. something which replaces that or, in an ideal outcome-based workflow, simply speeds up the process is a necessity for culture to progress at its natural rate shoutout @iamfoose for being an early innovator in the craft, michelangelo of the singularity if you feel threatened by generative AI you probably lack that vision i spoke of, as that is what it rewards. you do not have the IDEAS to create something interesting or profound now that the barrier between idea and creation has been collapsed. you simply wanted to monopolize the creation itself, the only value you were able to bring was the ability to bring ideas to reality. you have been replaced and now true innovators of culture and aesthetics are running WILD while you are rightfully left out of a job good riddance, i was sick of your "art"
