UK Govt zero-interest loans for heat pumps set to launch within weeks. The low interest loans will cover #heatpumps, #solar panels and plug-in #batteries to encourage more households to invest in green tech to lower energy bills.

The UK isn't blocking Tesla FSD (Supervised). Nobody has applied.
Over the summer I asked the DfT and VCA through FOI requests and my MP. What the written answers say:
1. The route is open. VCA, 10 July: "It is now possible to type approve such systems" under UN R171. GB already approved Ford BlueCruise hands-free in 2023, using its own version of the Article 39 route the Dutch used for Tesla.
2. The Dutch approval doesn't carry over. DfT, 9 July: Article 39 decisions "do not apply automatically in Great Britain". Applying "would be a decision for Tesla".
3. As of June, Tesla hadn't applied. Asked for any record of an application, the DfT said: "not held".
4. Minister for Roads, 9 Oct: R171 is set to go into GB law, with later versions accepted automatically. And the VCA "would welcome early engagement" from makers approved abroad who want cars evaluated on British roads.
The door is open to Tesla, but they need to actually apply.

Citroën just revealed the new electric 2CV Concept, and it’s pure Deuche energy. Ribbed bonnet, protruding headlights, roll-back cloth roof, and those signature bubble proportions.
Bright orange, deck-chair seats, and an egg basket in the cabin (because of course it does).
Target price: under €15k / ~£13k.
Production version expected in 2028.
Range rumoured around 160 miles.
It’s a concept for now, but this is the one. Simpler, cheaper, more human electric mobility.
Would you take one over a new Twingo?

Hier ein neues Model mit einer 200 kWh Batterie. Die Batterie kann auch gewechselt (swapping) werden.
Der Trecker wurde von Anfang an als E-Trecker konzipiert.
Fazit: Es geht schon wenn man wirklich will.

⚡️1,171 miles in our Kia EV6 using only Tesla energy.⚡️
🏴 We’ve just returned from our Anglesey trip, including the ~334-mile drive there, exploring mid/west Wales and the island plus the journey home.
🪫 We only used Tesla Superchargers (I took the monthly membership for the trip.)
🧮The numbers:
🚗 3.6 miles/kWh average 🏠 First charge at home at 4.99p/kWh ~£4 for about 270 miles.
⚡~£125 spent at Tesla Superchargers
💷 That’s ~11p per mile!
🙌 Not a single queue for a charger (as ever).
⛽️ For comparison, the same distance in a 40mpg petrol car would cost around
£232!
at current average prices of ~175p/litre.
⛽️ 🛢️A 50mpg diesel would be about £213
at ~200p/litre.
💷💷That’s roughly £103 saved against petrol
💷£84 against diesel.😳
A proper holiday, plenty of driving, mountains, Welsh ‘weather’, motorways….and I wasn’t driving like Miss Daisy.
No charger queues and 1,171 miles for around £129.
What’s not to like?
