Hello! I do not really post here anymore. But I spent a few years working on this one. I hope you'll watch it. youtube.com/watch?v=SOn3wba8…
Hi there. I reported out this segment on how the last Trump admin violated drug laws by purchasing execution drugs from a company not licensed to make them. If you know something about the next Trump admin's execution plans, I'm on Signal: csmcdaniel.89 youtube.com/watch?v=SOn3wba8…

NEW: When a prosecutor says that someone is on death row based on a lie, a just system would fix that. In our system, the outcome for Richard Glossip is still uncertain.

46 groups are calling for the immediate release of Cambodian journalist Mech Dara. He was charged on Tuesday with incitement, a vague charge often used by authorities as a tool for intimidation and repression. Dara's arrest looks like more of the same:

In the days leading up to his execution, Keith Gavin, a Muslim, made requests about what he wanted to eat, the garments he would wear, & his final words before he died.
For @boltsmag, I spent Gavin's final day with him & watched Alabama deny them.

Really great investigation by @ChiaraEisner into the pharmacy that's recently been making Texas' execution drugs. npr.org/2024/07/10/nx-s1-502…
Back in 2018, I reported for BuzzFeed News on Texas's then-supplier: A pharmacy whose license was on probation after regulators found it compounded the wrong drug for 3 kids, sending one to the emergency room, and forged quality control documents. buzzfeednews.com/article/chr…
And before *that,* Texas wanted to illegally buy execution drugs from a small company in India. The deal fell through when the company was raided for selling opioids and viagra illegally to Americans. buzzfeednews.com/article/chr…

After she watched the John Oliver episode, she did something she had never done before: google the health effects of PFOS. She was disturbed by what she read.

I'm going to tweet out some of the really great reporting while the federal executions were ongoing, that really helped inform this piece.
The AP's @mtarm witnessed every execution. He wrote about how what he witnessed was at odds from what the DOJ was claiming in court. apnews.com/article/execution…
Reuters and Jonathan Allen did a great job reporting on the secrecy of the federal government in this piece: reuters.com/article/us-usa-e… And Jonathan's piece was the only reporting (that I saw at least?) about the House Oversight Committee sending a letter to Absolute Standards.

Here's our piece from Sunday about executions, and the company we believe manufactured unregulated drugs that were used for lethal injections. You know, standard comedy show stuff....youtube.com/watch?v=SOn3wba8…
In court, DOJ & BOP assured that the facility was "properly registered as a bulk manufacturer." The company is not properly registered to make drugs for use in humans or animals since it never registered with the FDA. DOJ declined to answer if they would be correcting this record
