I have four kids. They all play sports. The chances of them making money from it are so low that it doesn't even cross my mind. I want them to have fun, learn skills, and experience failure. So parents, here is my plea ~ Stop acting like your 10-year-old is going to get drafted tomorrow.

Opinion: Here's how 'meanness' is causing a severe lack of referees in youth sports

The York Chapter of PIAA Basketball Officials has 93 active officials. Two years ago it had 150. What happened? We're being mean.

Asking for help is not easy for most of us. One of my friends @scottguise could use some help as he was recently diagnosed with cancer. I've started a fundraiser to show our support. Read about it at: redlionpa.myrec.com/info/act… @YDSports @RLBaseballPA @YCPathletics @WindsorRec

Youth sports should be used as a platform to help kids build tons of skills and relationships that’ll help them for life. Youth sports should NOT be used as a way for adults to feed their egos.

SPORT PARENTS: Ask your own parents if the 4th game of your season when you were 11 determined your fate as a human being. If it did not carry such importance, then don’t be the parent that loses your head over the 4th game of your child’s U12 game this weekend. Please. 🙏 #TOVO

Had a great talk with a parent today who gets it. When we were kids youth sports were about us, the kids. Now it can so often be about parents and their desire to compare their kid to others. Parents, please remember, it’s not your race to run.....

Youth coaches have different skills. Some inspire or teach fundamentals well. Some can see heart and desire, or under-the-radar potential. Others know how to build confidence in a player who really needs it. Many teach life skills and character. Few do it all. But it all matters.
