If your friends ever ask you to give "mates rates" on somethine you value, tell them that "mates rates" is full price because they should be good enough friends to support the shit you're doing if they want it at all.

This is a national tragedy. As I said to the Prime Minister today, tougher measures are going to be needed. Why on earth are restrictions weaker than last March? independent.co.uk/news/healt…

On Christmas Day, the official UK coronavirus death toll passed 70,000. Today, it has passed 80,000. 10,000 lives lost in just over two weeks. A truly horrifying statistic. Please take this lockdown seriously, we are all responsible for helping to bring this under control

Apparently the government are considering tighter lockdown restrictions, which I fully support because it looks like nothing ever happened out there at the moment, can we just do this as tight as possible so we can enjoy our lives again?

It’s okay to be sad about lockdown and simultaneously think it’s the right thing to do.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but throw away that box your iPhone came in. You don’t need it. You will never need it.

Feeling v. anxious lately. I'm not sleeping well and having bad dreams. Living alone during a lockdown is strange - some days are a peaceful oasis and some just make you want to go back to sleep until it's all over. Sending hugs to all the other people who are struggling 🧡

Stop using tiers then, they’re obviously not working, lockdown properly for 8 weeks to reduce hospital admission whilst vaccinations are being distributed to the vulnerable, it’s not rocket science.

With deaths back up to 1000 a day, I keep thinking of all the high profile politicians, journalists, pundits, positive professors & the like who shamelessly pushed the ludicrous line that the pandemic was nothing but scaremongering. I hope you all feel super proud of yourselves.

Shattering Covid figures just in: 🔹 964 more deaths 🔹 Nearly 56k more cases 🔹 24k patients now in hospital And this wave won’t peak before mid Jan, perhaps later. There is so much more death to come. PLEASE everyone, use masks, wash hands, distance, stay inside. Please.

Just a thought! Instead of buying fireworks buy 2 cans of pet food for a shelter animal. Don't make a noise...make a difference!

Overheard a #CovIdiot today: "...yeah going into Tier 4 tomorrow, so I suppose last night was like a last supper" "..Maisy went to a house party in Manchester on Monday, the police raided it, they all got £200 fine". It's these #Twats that are spreading it!

England’s hospitals contain more patients with Covid than ever before. We are overwhelmed, in crisis. Yet from the government: silence. Where is @BorisJohnson? I don’t have the luxury of hiding from Covid. Nor do my NHS colleagues. Why does he?

53,000 new cases today. 53,000. And still - incredibly - we are not in lockdown. I just cannot bear the inertia. It is inexplicable and so very, very wrong.

When you say you don’t know who to believe on Covid, you’re treating the testimony of frontline NHS doctors and nurses like me as no more believable than anonymous Twitter trolls. Can you imagine how that makes us feel? We’re your NHS. Please trust us 💙
