I had the same experience— as a kid I realize now I just learned how to push numbers around on a page; after teaching elementary math I have a fundamentally different (and to me, better) understanding of how numbers work. Kids shouldn’t have to wait.

I suggest looking at all of the @EctorCountyISD TIA celebration photos but this one celebrating an incredible PreK teacher really got me. A life-changing amount of money for a teacher who is changing lives.
“They’ve decided, as a society, that it’s a collective responsibility to keep their children safe.” It’s a choice they made.
