The Confederate Army was the most diverse in the world, w/Asians, Mexicans, French, Spanish, Indian, Free negroes, etc. The South also had the ONLY non-white General, being Stand Watie, who led the Cherokee against yankees. The U.S. army was segregated until AFTER WWII.
