Holly Molly! $S enters the chat... But before you FOMO in, here's why @SonicLabs is gaining traction lately. • An independent supply audit is expected on Tuesday (Oct. 13). Simply put, Sonic brought in an external party to verify how much $S actually exists, how it was issued, and whether the reported supply adds up. This follows the leadership shake-up that brought Matt Visser in as the new CEO. And I think he's trying to bring activity back to Sonic but first, he wants to clear the supply overhang that's been hanging over the token. In his words, "manual minting is over, going forward, only automated validator rewards will introduce new $S into supply". To bring that into perspective, we previously had: • 472.37M $S issued in September 2025 for institutional expansion. • Another $50M worth of $S approved for ETF expansion, although this was never minted. • 47.62M $S annually earmarked for ecosystem growth under the original tokenomics. So, you can see why token dilution has been a concern. With this audit, we'll hopefully get a clearer picture of where the issued tokens went, what's still outstanding, and whether some of these supply overhangs have finally been closed. • Another catalyst is the $S airdrop burn scheduled for Thursday (Oct. 15). Although I think this might get postponed, there's still a decent amount of $S sitting unclaimed. My latest onchain snapshot puts the remaining Season 1 and Season 2 airdrop balance at roughly 6.37M $S, or about 0.16% of total supply. That's considerably less than the 32.69M $S Sonic originally flagged for burning back in April. And holders can still claim before the deadline, so the final burn could be smaller. So how am I gonna play this? • My main signal comes from what the Sonic audit says... If nothing looks SUS, I might ape in a bit, possibly through futures with some leverage. But if the findings turn into chaos, like what happened with Movement, I'll back down.
