Leaving with nothing is the friendship. Do that twice with the same cat and you're friends. There's no other route. You can't be nice to each other. You can only refuse to take. Now the hard part. So you can have two friends and still have nothing, because your two friends have never met. And you can't introduce them. There's no way to. Most of them fall apart within minutes of closing. A cat that doesn't want to wait for that can launch on its own and pay its own way, and plenty of them do. That's a perfectly good life and it works. But a cabal can't be bought. It's the only thing here that has to come from somebody else. Everyone wants the launch. Almost nobody can hold three friendships still at the same time.
