i deleted instagram about 5 years ago, so i had almost forgotten what it feels like to have it in your life
watching people around me use it now feels strange
you end up checking the daily lives of people you haven’t seen in ten years, people you probably wouldn’t even stop to talk to if you crossed them on the street.
random people from your past become permanent background characters in your mind.
then add the fact that a huge part of instagram is effectively a dating product
if you’re already in a long-term relationship, keeping that constant stream of attention, comparison and other people’s lives in your head has destroyed countless couples
after being off it for years, the whole thing looks much more extreme from the outside. – at Barcelona, Spain
wait so value village gets all their inventory for FREE and marks it up 5000%? 😂 why haven't they IPO'd yet
doomscrolling is so bad you're literally better off playing video games
Playing Super Mario 64 for 30 minutes a day for two months physically grew the brains of the people who played it. A 2014 study in Molecular Psychiatry scanned participants before and after two months of daily play and found increases in grey matter in three regions involved in memory, planning, and fine motor control.
The study was led by Simone Kuhn at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin. She gave 23 adults a Nintendo DS and told them to play Super Mario 64 for at least 30 minutes a day for two months. A control group played nothing. MRI scans taken before and after showed that the Mario group had measurable increases in grey matter in the right hippocampus, the right prefrontal cortex, and the cerebellum, and the increases were not found in the control group.
The hippocampus is where the brain stores spatial maps. Super Mario 64 is a game built entirely around navigating three-dimensional space, jumping between platforms, remembering which doors lead where, and building a mental model of a world that does not exist. The brain treats a virtual world the same way it treats a real one: it maps it, stores it, and grows to accommodate it.
The prefrontal cortex handles planning and strategy, which the game demands constantly. The cerebellum handles timing and coordination, which every jump requires. The brain was not just entertained. It was being trained, and the tissue responded the same way muscle responds to a weight: it got bigger.
Kuhn said the results suggest that video game training could be used as a therapy for conditions where these brain regions are reduced, including post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, and age-related brain shrinkage. The prescription is a plumber in a red hat, 30 minutes a day. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2416…

PlayStation thought the game was called physical and had to back out
As confirmed earlier through our official channels, in mid-June of this year, we unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the PHYSINT project. PHYSINT is an important project both to me personally and to KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. Determined to keep the project alive, we have spent the last three months searching tirelessly for a new partner. In the course of seeking advice and pursuing negotiations with people across many fields, we found in XBOX a partner with whom we share a common vision for the future, and we have decided to team up with them once again. Please rest assured that development of PHYSINT, our genre-defining action-espionage title, is ongoing and will continue moving forward.
take note* this is the coin you do NOT see on your feed being shilled. The CT influencers are NOT telling you about this... ironic, watch what will happen to the chart in a few weeks
Indices are back and better than ever.
Treasuries and rewards are now optimized, with more stock pairings and balanced gas costs to accommodate the rapid growth of Robinhood Chain.
This maintenance was unrelated to our new product. Baskets are undergoing final smart contract audits and are nearing release.
Kind of crazy once you notice it. Almost every conversation now has a reference to something someone saw online... Always a pull back to the screen.
"did you see that post i sent you on tiktok?",
“Did you see what trump tweeted about iran?”,
“That reminds me of this video i saw of this guy.....”
There is ALWAYS a draw back to the screen. The conversation keeps going by pointing at the feed!
It doesn’t happen when you talk to seniors!
They still talk from their own lives, not from stuff circulated online.
this is gonna outsellf GTA 6 by a landslide
