Agreed. It’s interesting to see the renewed appreciation for the paper wallet generator at bitaddress.org. Many thanks to @BtcCuracao for his OS contribution.
The cold storage Cryptoart we published from 2014–2020 used paper wallets generated with bitaddress.org. All keys were generated after mouse movement entropy was introduced on an offline laptop that was never again connected to the internet and was later destroyed. We’re not aware of any breaches. That said, Cryptoart was specifically designed so collectors could replace the original keys without damaging the art print. NYKNYC!
What makes an art print tokenized? Pairing mechanics.
Each print is linked to an NFT that toggles between two states:
Paired: the print is in circulation.
Unpaired: the print is invalidated/destroyed and the NFT becomes redeemable for the same edition number.
Own physically, transfer onchain.
Inspiration:
The central element of this art piece is a rendition of the tally stick — an ancient device used to record debts between two parties. A stick was marked to signify the debt, then broken and given to each party. The larger half was given to the creditor and the short end given to the debtor (hence the saying “Short end of the stick“). Similar to the private-key to public-key relationship of cryptography, only one pair could be combined to verify the debt. In this regard, the tally stick represents sound money as opposed to not fully collateralized debt found in fractional reserve banking.

agree, but with a wrinkle - pure digital is cheap; pure physical is also cheap (and going to get cheaper - thanks robots). a physical product that leverages digital is where its at.
