After much thought, I've decided my pronouns are going to be 'we/ours'. I refuse to identify as someone who can be specifically identified. So, every time I get late, you're supposed to say 'Ritvik got late because our car broke and we failed to fix it.' Take that, geniuses!

In Bengaluru, people are becoming conscious of their surroundings.
- at 2 am midnight, a big healthy banyan tree was chopped off
- this was like a heritage for residents
- 2 more trees nearby were cut too
- residents were shocked to see this & came out to protest.
This was at HRBR layout, Kalyan Nagara (at the corner house)
Was GBA informed about this?
Was Forest cell involved in this?
Were the RWA members intimated?
Was this tree cut because the under construction buildings demanded?
If this was done as per law, why was this tree chopped off at mid night?
For 3 decades, nobody had a problem with this tree, infact this tree has given shade to countless people and this is a disastrous way to let the tree go off this way for real estate needs.
Your hero Sobha Singh, feted later by Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, was the one who gave testimonies against Bhagat Singh before British judges.
I have been filing complaints about footpaths in my area as well for the longest time and nothing ever gets done.
This auto KA03AD7546 is parked every day on the footpath recently made. Could you please take action and impose fine on them @kghallitrfps. This is today morning 7:00Am Rajatha Greens Apartments Nagavara Main Road opposite BP Petrol Bunk.@blrcitytraffic
I agree with the first three points, but not the 'dump garbage' part. Keralites are largely clean and know better than many Bangalorean locals.
For that guy on Twitter who said that the only part insufferable in Bengaluru is the Outer Ring Road.
If the gender pay gap was real, then greedy corporations that want more profit would hire more women, right?
A guy on a first date asked me why I didn't want to split the bill 50/50, saying "I thought women wanted equality." I told him, "When the gender pay gap closes, when my pink tax disappears, when I don't have to spend an hour and $50 worth of makeup to meet society's baseline for looking 'presentable,' and when I don't have to text my friends my live location just to sit across from you... then we can split the bill." He didn't have much to say after that.

A must-read piece on the rigmarole scientists must navigate to do science in India.
In my first lead opinion piece for @the_hindu, I write on the lack of liberty in Indian science.

India won’t build a world-class science ecosystem by taxing “frivolous” industries—it needs smarter funding, fewer bureaucratic barriers and greater private participation. 🔬🇮🇳
A compelling argument for reforming how India funds science.

But where is there a 'bridge'? Or is that the name of the locality? It looks like Jayanagar etc. to me.

Meanwhile, my city, Delhi, @ggganeshh. Take a long, hard look. As always, not saying everything is perfect. But we don't get abusive when civic issues are pointed out.

A couple from Bangalore wanted somewhere to escape to. They had one brief for their architect: make it feel like an extension of the land, and of themselves.
This is Urukka Veedu. Thally, Tamil Nadu. Śūnya. 1,750 sq ft. 2025.
Terracotta roof tiles over a steel frame. Rough-plastered walls that step back so the landscape takes over. Louvred clerestory windows pulling breeze through the building without a single air conditioner working overtime. Earthen pots embedded in the filler slab ceiling. Teak carved into every door frame and shelf edge.
Look at the living room. A custom masonry sofa built into the floor, wide enough to sleep on, designed to hold a crowd. No imported furniture catalogue. No statement piece from overseas. Just a room that knows exactly what it is for.
This is what happens when a home is designed around how people actually live rather than how a catalogue says they should. We spend more of our life inside our homes than anywhere else, and most of what we are building on this continent does not deserve that time.
Build better. Your home is not a status symbol. It is where your life happens.
