Take the $$ proposed to arm and train teachers to shoot guns
Give it to the teachers as improved salary
Then just pass some reasonable gun safety legislation:
1. Universal background checks
2. Waiting period
3. Licensing and registration
4. Ban assault rifles
Win-win
