The week, our team attended #ClimateWeekNYC 2026 ⚡Threading a few of our biggest takeaways from the event.
Geothermal and SMRs of up to 150 MW are starting to scale, and we’re working with next-gen power providers on the interconnection to bring them online fast. Meanwhile, BESS and solar+storage keep firming the grid, and the industry needs better ways to measure their value beyond cost savings, including speed to power and risk mitigation.
#ClimateWeekNYC brings a lot of great people together to talk about the future of energy. We're glad to be part of it.

Two industrial facilities in California needed 20 megawatts, but the utility could only commit to 7.
Because the customer runs on shifts, battery storage covers the difference, dispatched by Cygnus, our grid-interactive controller.
The same approach runs the San Diego Airport project: 4MW of solar and 4MWh of batteries coordinated across a live campus, saving the airport millions over the contract.

The average energy project now takes 61 months to go from interconnection request to commercial operation, roughly double what it took in 2015. I spoke with @forbes about what that means for businesses trying to grow.
This problem is no longer confined to data centers. Any capital-intensive business that needs rapid access to power, manufacturing, EV fleets, airports, commercial real estate, feels it just as acutely.
The fix is combining what the grid already provides with on-site storage and software that shifts between the two in real time, drawing maximum grid power when it’s available and relying on reserves when it’s constrained. Energy has to be treated as a dynamic operational variable.
