Equimondo, one of the few organisations named in Phillipson’s NR is an American nonprofit organisation based in Washington, DC. It’s CEO Gary Barker, again one of the few named members of the new misogyny task force is an American researcher and campaigner specialising in masculinity and a darling of the UN and global philanthropy.
Bridget Phillipson has assembled the usual government fluffers rather than the grassroots grafters who have spent years defending women’s rights. There’s no mention of groups like Women’s Rights Network, Standing for Women or For Women Scotland.

This man, who groomed and raped a girl, worked in @Tesco in East Bristol and attended Bristol Pride with the Tesco Pride group. @BristolCouncil have been working since 2022 to encourage this man to use women and girls' changing rooms and toilets. Thinking of his brave victim.

This is a case of huge importance for union members, who need to know if they pay their subs only so that activists can decide their worthiness for basic employment help, based on whether or not they share the same personal biases and preferences as union gatekeepers.
What is a trade union for, if not to stand beside its members when they need it most? “Peggie’s claim hinges on the alleged failure of her union to advise her that she had legitimate grounds for a legal claim against her employer while she was suspended, and the RCN’s refusal to provide formal legal assistance when she made a secondary claim against NHS Fife over their handling of her disciplinary case.”
The RCN describes itself as a trade union that provides members with advice, representation and specialist legal support on workplace issues, including discrimination. Its own governance says the RCN Council must consider members’ interests and concerns and ensure the union acts lawfully.
A union does not have to agree with every belief held by every member. But members should be able to expect fair treatment, proper advice and representation based on the merits of their case, not whether their lawful beliefs are fashionable or approved of.
That is the issue at the heart of Sandie Peggie’s case against the RCN. And nurses across the country should be watching closely.

Ed Davey genuinely doesn't understand that the @EHRC must legally reflect what the Equality Act says. It can't contradict anything in the Equality Act. He's a former cabinet minister yet he doesn't understand this?
Once again, the Supreme Court decision confirmed that people with a Gender Recognition Certificate are, as a matter of law, their biological sex.
It was accepted by all parties to FWS vs Scottish Ministers that people without a GRC (the vast majority of self-identified trans people) had precisely zero claim to being anything other than their biological sex.
Consequently, I’m afraid that almost all claims of ‘trans rights’ require the assertion of privileges to which those people are simply not entitled. The rights claimed are not theirs to possess.
The law is clear on this and so is the guidance.
The people busy muddying waters are politicians and activists who do not wish to accept the law or acknowledge their own past gullibility and stupidity.

I only just noticed the "intolerance" label which Bluesky uses to hide posts from gender-critical accounts.
This would surely constitute discrimination under EA2010.
Would any lawyers be able to comment on whether this is a problem for UK organisations who moved from X to Bluesky? @AudreySuffolk @akuareindorf

She is taking her former employer, Manchester City Council, to employment tribunal for unfair dismissal on the grounds of religion or belief. Ms Young is a Catholic, holds gender critical beliefs. She was dismissed, among other grounds, for social media activity.

The Nursing Times is celebrating an initiative through which bereaved mothers express and donate their breast milk - yet does not use the word “mother” once.
Instead, women become “families”, mothers become “parents” and breast milk becomes “lactation”.
That is not neutral language. It reflects an ideological choice to avoid naming women, even when only women can perform the intensely physical act being described.
This is not journalism - it's activism.
This is absolutely appalling from the @NursingTimes .
In an article celebrating an award-winning initiative through which bereaved mothers donate their breast milk to help vulnerable babies, the word “mother” is not used once.
The women become “families”. Breast milk is reduced to the clinical language of “lactation”.
Yet it is the grieving mother who sits and expresses milk meant for a baby she cannot hold.
It is her body still producing milk for the child she has lost.
It is she who makes the extraordinary decision to continue expressing that milk and donate it to help another vulnerable baby.
Yet the Nursing Times tells us that more than 400 “families” have donated milk and places the “parent voice” at the centre.
Families grieve. Fathers grieve. Their loss matters enormously.
But families - or parents collectively - do not express breast milk.
Mothers do.
To erase a bereaved mother from this intensely physical act - while supposedly celebrating her generosity - is not inclusive.
It is dehumanising, cruel and profoundly insulting.
