The intention was to address defense requests to remove Judge Steven Hippler from Kohberger's post-conviction proceedings claiming he is bias, challenges Kohberger’s honesty and therefore would not be able to impartially evaluate its post-conviction claims.The disqualification question has not yet been resolved. ➡️The order issued by Judge Steven Hippler is an Amended Scheduling Order that effectively vacates today's hearing. Instead of holding the argument over whether the judge should be disqualified, the court has set a brand new timeline for Bryan Kohberger's post-conviction relief process. 📌January 13, 2027: Kohberger's deadline to amend his petition to withdraw his guilty plea. April & May 2027: Deadlines for expert witness disclosures. 📌July 7, 2027: The final deadline for both sides to finish gathering evidence. 📌August 2, 2027: The earliest date Kohberger's legal team is permitted to ask the court to schedule new status and evidentiary hearings.
