There's an interesting new essay up on Severance by @Solidgoldmacher on a question we haven't covered before—what obligation do we have to the people with whom we share DNA?

Looking forward to #25siblingsandme 9pm @BBCTwo. Lovely young man with #aspergers finds he has 25 siblings from the same sperm donor. Increasingly common with consumer DNA testing. Interested to see how many of his half-siblings are on the #ASD #spectrum...radiotimes.com/tv-programme/…

There's been a major privacy breach at GEDmatch. It appears that all kits, regardless of user preferences, have been opted in to law enforcement matching. I've messaged Verogen on Facebook to alert them to the problem. The site now seems to be down completely. #geneticgenealogy
Thanks for this Debbie.

A clear-eyed assessment of the #DTC #DNA #Ancestry industry and its pernicious promises. Read The Genealogical Sublime for a history of the biggest databases.

leapsmag.com/scoop-largest-c… A fascinating development (though I still have huge reservations about ancestry testing) that protects the privacy of donors and children.
