A founder publicly said he messaged 20+ motion designers 4 days before his launch Only 1 replied yes That guy now runs a launch video studio working with HeyGen, Notion, Firecrawl… Meanwhile half of motion design twitter is crying about AI and fighting over $150 logo reveals. Crazy disconnect What most people learning motion completely miss: X turned into the launch stage for basically every startup. Someone tracked 1,100+ launches over the last 12 months. Over half were AI tools. Every single one needed a video Those founders aren’t paying for “animation”. They’re paying for a launch moment And the launches that cleared 1M views weren’t some secret sauce either. Pretty boring actually: - product on screen in the first 10 sec, no logo intro - real UI, motion just makes it look better - 30 to 60 sec max - script sounds like the founder talking - says what it is in one sentence, then shows it A decent AE user can execute all of that. The gap isn’t software. It’s knowing what to build and why Now the part that actually matters $$$ Launch video sits around $3-5k. Two weeks later they ship a new feature. Needs a 20s clip. Then another. Then the fundraise announcement. Then ad cutdowns from the same assets One AI startup can turn into a client that never stops needing you, because these companies ship nonstop Compare that to clipping podcasts for pennies per 1k views and praying one goes viral lol AI tools will eat the generic stuff first. Spinning logos, template reveals, abstract shapes with no point. The designer who thinks like a product marketer gets more expensive, not cheaper Most people are learning motion with zero idea who’s actually paying for it. That’s the real gap

if it actually can, this wouldn't be the clip you picked to prove it pause it anywhere and it's great. genuinely. layout, type, the 3D head, color, no notes then you press play and everything in it travels at one flat speed. snaps on, snaps off, nothing settles, nothing has weight, nothing waits. a to b in a straight line that's the part people are actually paying for. not the frame only: what accelerates and what doesn't what overshoots what lags behind because it's heavier how long something sits still before it moves none of it is visible in a single frame, which is exactly why models keep missing it and demos keep looking like this it'll get solved i guess, today i think it isn't

copy my video frame by frame if you want. It won't get you a single client. video isn't the skill. The skill is sitting with a brief you've never seen before and knowing what to do with it. A client doesn't hire what's on your page. They hire whoever made it. The second someone asks you for something that doesn't exist yet, you're finished. No reference to trace, no original to lean on, nothing behind your eyes. That's why copy accounts stay at low invoices forever. Remember that.
