Pat McAfee used winnings from an UNDERGROUND POKER GAME to help fund the kicking showcase that changed his entire football career.
McAfee needed around $1,500 to travel to a major kicking competition in Miami.
His parents weren’t paying for it.
So McAfee borrowed $100 from a friend, entered a poker game in the basement of an Italian restaurant and walked out with $1,400.
His dad covered the remaining $100.
McAfee went to Miami and drilled a 65-YARD FIELD GOAL in front of college coaches.
West Virginia offered him a scholarship shortly afterward.
$100 borrowed.
One poker game.
One 65-yard kick.
And his entire life changed.
