THE DUST BEHIND THE DOOR
Coming Spring of 2027 from @koehlerbooks!
Description in Alt.
ALT Danny Maudlin is a loser. A scrawny freshman, everyone at Bayshore High School picks on him: cruel jocks, popular girls, even his Social Studies teacher! His only friend is Lia, a quiet loner with a formal attitude and indigo eyes. When Lia saves Danny from a pack of bullies, he learns her deepest secret. She is really a dragon in disguise. Lia is hiding in our world from a terrible war in her home of Empaeria. While rehearsing for the school production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Danny discovers that he has the power to pass through the veil between realities. Now, he has to help Lia find her missing brother and end the war in Empaeria before it brings unspeakable evil into our world.
So I finally broke down and got a new toy.
Because if you want to sell books you also have to "content."
In honesty, I'm somewhat looking forward to it, a new bit of creativity.

Day 2
I'm not one for horror. My brain latches onto it too easily and it stays with me for days-weeks-years.
If you want something Horrific, I recommend THE ROAD by Cormac McCarthy. Your worst day won't seem so bad after it.

United's the club for me.
🚨 Roy Keane on Manchester City potentially facing severe punishment:
“People are talking about points deductions and taking titles away. I’ll be honest with you, I want to see them relegated.
Not because I played for United. Forget that for a second. I just want to see what happens to all these players then. [laughs]
For years you had players with a choice between Manchester United and Manchester City and they chose City. Fair enough. They looked at City winning leagues, playing Champions League football, working with Guardiola and thought that was the better place to be.
No problem. You made your choice.
But if City are eventually told they’re playing Championship football, don’t have your agent on the phone the following morning telling everyone you’ve always dreamed of playing for Real Madrid.
Stay.
You wanted Manchester City. Well, there’s Manchester City. Wrexham away on a Tuesday night. Go and enjoy it.
That’s what I’d be interested in. We’ll find out very quickly who actually wanted to play for the football club and who wanted everything that came with playing for the football club.
And the lads who turned United down to go there? I certainly wouldn’t be losing any sleep over them. They made the decision. Sometimes in football you have to live with it.”
Fun conversation from yesterday:
What song title would make a good Tribute Band name?
Ex. Rain is the name of the Beatles tribute band.
I'll go first:
Second Hand News: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac
(May already exist?)
I'd love to hear your ideas.

Core Childhood Memory.
The following Monday, I stopped paying attention in class and started drawing characters and writing fantastic adventures in my school notebooks.

Day 15
The main characters in THE DUST BEHIND THE DOOR would think of me as a local dad. Hopefully a cool dad.

Discovered a problem with a major project right before bed last night.
Woke up at 01.00 and couldn't fall back asleep until I worked it out (and struggled to sleep even after).
This morning, I learned that the problem doesn't really matter.

Day 10
In THE DUST BEHIND THE DOOR, Danny wants the knowledge of how to best help Lia.
Lia has the power to do as she pleases. She wants the knowledge of where her brother is.
Enzo is strong enough and knows what he knows.
